Chapter 22 - Late Night Confession

Eren's POV

As her soft lips lightly bit the tip of my finger I flinched at the contact. Her tongue went over my cut as she began sucking intently. It made me feel ticklish, while her already bared fangs hovered over my skin. I could tell she was holding back from actually biting me. I started squirming in my position as Petra continued and made weird noises.

"E-Eren..." She called my name and looked up at me with her glowing eyes. I blushed as I realized how flustered I got. "I'm sorry I had to make you do this..."

"It's fine..." I carefully held my wrist and wrapped it around some bandage we found a moment later. When Hanji came back, we were silent for the most part. Hanji questioned us a couple times but we never said a word. It became really awkward for us after that.

"Petra, seriously, why did you guys go silent all of a sudden?" Hanji crossed her arms as we sat on the dining table eating our salad. I glanced at Petra as she brought up a spoon up to her face. When we made eye contact, she immediately grew pink.

"Hey," We heard a snappy voice come from the kitchen. "Why is it that there is a faint smell of blood in the kitchen?"

"Levi~! Wanna join us for lunch?" Hanji asked as she turned over her chair. "And what was that about blood?" Levi's eyes had a warm red glow to them as he continued talking.

"I said, there's a faint smell of that brat's blood in the kitchen." Levi eyed at me and then glanced at Petra. I frowned at their eye contact and looked down at my plate. I had yet to ask about their relationship...

"Eren, I'll meet you in my lab in a little while." Hanji said as she stood up with Petra behind her. I nodded in response as was left in the room with Levi. My heart started to beat faster once I saw him sit next to me. He was wearing a nice black velvet coat with crested buttons and long leather boots. One more thing, he wasn't wearng his usual cravat. He actually had a neck. 

"Hey brat, why are you spacing out?" I averted my eyes from staring at his neck and nice looking collarbone. I had the sudden urge to place butterfly kisses all over them. How silly of me for thinking such things.. For some reason, I have always wanted to hear Levi call out to me. My actual name, and not one of those stupid nicknames he came up with. A strange, but somewhat exciting, tightening started in my pants.

"I'm sorry." I wiped the corner of my mouth with a napkin as Levi intently eyed my movements. After I cleared my throat, I tugged on my collar and sat up in my seat. "Levi.. What is your relationship with Petra?" He moved his icy gaze away from his teacup and straight up at me. I shut my eyes shut, expecting a harsh scolding from him. I'm an idiot! Why did I have to ask a question like that?

"Petra and I are just close friends. Our families were pretty close so we grew up together for a while..." Levi started talking as I shuffled in my seat. "I see her as a younger sister." We sat there in silence for a while until Levi began talking once again. "Brat, go back to your room after you finish your chores. The sun sets earlier today."

"Alright.." I muttered. After I gathered my plates, I went back into the kitchen and began my daily chores as Levi watched me from behind while sipping on his favorite tea. So he thinks of her as a sister...

~TIME SKIP~

Before I came to realize it, the sun had already set and the castle was quiet. As I brushed the top of my butler uniform, I remembered about my appointment with Hanji. When I exited the kitchen, I bumped into Hanji as she was hopping down the hall. We both bumped each others foreheads and almost fell backwards.

"Eren! There you are! Come'on!" She dragged me by my sleeve down the second hall and down to her lab. She took a couple more blood samples from my wrist and started checking my eyes for some reason but I just shrugged it off. "Ok, that's it for now. You can head back to your room now. Be careful though, it's already dark out and I'm sure the Eclipse has taken effect on Levi and the others by now."
