Hanji's POV

Levi told us that we should take the trail through the forest to avoid as much sunlight as possible for the princess. Our hike was silent, the only sounds you could hear were the animals, trickling water, and the trees ruffling in the wind. I let out a sigh and lean against a tree.

"Hey, Levi, just how long is this trail? It's so quiet and boring here." I complain.

"I'm enjoying the nature." Petra said as she held out an acorn to a little squirrel resting on a branch.

"Just wait." Levi said without looking back at me.

A few moments later, we arrived in an opening within the forest. The trees were aligned making the river on the edge center. The sunlight made the river sparkle, along with the other plant life that had dewdrops on their leaves.

"Wow! What a beautiful scenery!" Petra exclaimed walking towards the river.

"What's this Levi? Trying to show off?" I asked nudging his shoulder.

"No, I just wanted to show it to you guys since it was on the way." His eyes drifted towards the river.

"This is really amazing though." I said looking at Petra stare into the river.

"Yeah. Let's get going. The town is this way." Levi flipped his cape and began to walk down another trail.

Levi's POV

I continued to lead them down another trail that I haven't been through. I didn't tell them that though. Once we reached the end of the trail, we arrived at the back of a horse stable. We ignore the group of horses and hide behind the carts in case there was anybody there.

Just as I was about to take a step forward, a group of giggling children holding buckets walked past us and back towards the stables. There was a blonde coconut head, an avatar, freckles, one that seemed to look like a horse, and a stern young girl with raven hair.

We stood there for a couple seconds, waiting for them to walk by until a twig snapped from behind me. The raven haired girl immediately turned around and scanned the area. I stand back and glare at Hanji.

"Sorry!" She whispered with a pathetic smile. "You pushed me back."

I let out a low growl and look back at the girl. Her face was emotionless as she continued to look around until someone called her out from the stables.

"Hey, Mikasa! Can you bring he bucket over here?"

"Yeah." She says after taking one quick glance back at the carts.

"Phew." Petra says while placing her hand over her chest. "You need to be more careful, Hanji."

"I know, I know. I'm sorry." She says holding her hands up in the air.

"Shh. Let's get this over with." I said sternly and ran behind a tree. The two girls followed quietly until Hanji's annoying voice came up.

"Wait, why are we hiding again?"

"You idiot. Shapeshifters have strong senses too. They're able to sense that we're vampires. We also have princess, who cannot walk in sunlight."

"Well, yeah but can't you two just hide your presence? I mean, that's a skill you vampires have, right?"

"That's what Petra and I have been doing this whole time! It's the reason we haven't been caught yet."

"I'm able to hide my presence for quite some time." Petra said from behind.
