A Disease is Now Upon Us

Last time on A World to Remember...

"Oh wow," Jesse says, yawning again. "Well, we better get some sleep. Thank you guys." She went to a nearby bed and layed down. She soon fell asleep. Rueben jumps up and joins her, falling asleep as well."

"Sleep well," Icane says.

Now on A World to Remember...

*With Feona*

She wakes up to find the others but Lukas not in the room. "Babe, where are the others?" Feona asks, wiping her eyes.

"Icane took them to sleep," Lukas says.

"Oh," Feona says. "Man today was a long day, wasn't it?"

"Sure was," Lukas says.

"Yeah, I can't believe Jessica and Chason are here. They came at a bad time, but that doesn't matter. We love them both so much."

Lukas nodded. "I'm glad we weren't left clueless on what to do."

"Jesse knows how to deliver a baby actually, but I'm glad we found someone who seems more professional with it."

"Well I guess it's good that- Wait, how does Jesse know?!" Lukas asked, shocked at what Feona said.

"She delivered Rueben when his mom had him, and she had some experience with humans as well."

"Huh, I didn't know that," Lukas says.

"Well, I'm gonna go to sleep, love you," Feona says, starting to lay down.

Lukas kissed her. "I'm gonna go to sleep too. Goodnight."

Jesse stirs a little as she hears Lukas head into the room. "Is Feona okay?"

"She's just sleeping," Lukas says.

"Good, she needs her rest," Nanette says.

"Yeah, today was kind of crazy," Jesse says. "Chason and Jessica being born and us being in this world. It all happened so fast."

"Exploring while pregnant..." Nanette says.

"Drop it Nanette!" Icane says, annoyed at Nanette saying that a lot.

Nanette grumbled to herself.

Jesse ignores Nanette. She tenses a little as a pain went through her. She thinks about what it could be, and then realized that it was Lactus Celliosis. "Oh no" Jesse thought.

Nanette noticed her tense. "What?"

"Nothing," Jesse says, not wanting to tell them about Lactus Celliosis. "I am fine. I just need to go to bed."

"You're lying, I can hear it in your voice," Nanette says.

"No, really I'm fine," Jesse says, getting slightly annoyed.

"So if I bring in Hannah to check you or diseases or kids, you'll be clear, right?" Nanette asked.

"Jesse, something is up, I can tell," Petra says. "I can always tell. Is it Lactus Celliosis?"

Jesse sighs and finally gives in, nodding.

"I knew something was up. I may be blind, but I'm not stupid," Nanette says.

"What's that? I've never heard of it," Icane says.

"It's a disease that gets really bad each time you have it," Petra explains. "There's 5 stages, and the last one is the worst. By the looks of it, she has stage 4."

Nanette facepalmed. "You went adventuring with a sick person and a pregnant person?" Nanette asks.

"Well, Lactus Celliosis randomly comes, so you never know when you get it," Petra says. "And that means that you could get it while adventuring and never expect it."

"Is there a cure?" Nanette asked.

"Not right now, but doctors are trying to make one," Petra says. "All we can do is be there for Jesse."

"Is it deadly?" Icane asked.

"No," Petra says.

Jesse tenses again, doubling over in pain. "Ow..." she says, grasping the side of the bed.

Icane sighed. "I'll talk to Hannah about something to help..." She then leaves the room.

Petra walks over to Jesse, grabbing her hand. "It's okay Jesse. Just breathe."

Jesse nods, trying to relax. "Thanks Petra," she says.

"Have you gotten this before?" Nanette asks.

"Yeah 3 times," Jesse says. "I have stage 4, which is the second worst stage. I will not look forward to when I get stage 5."

"How did you get rid of it before?" Icane asks.

"A little procedure," Jesse says. "Kind of like giving birth, but less painful."

"Why not do that for this one?" Nanette asked.

"It takes 24 hours before you can get the procedure done," Jesse says.

Nanette sighed. "With the bad luck you guys are going through, be glad you landed in a mostly friendly word and not mine and Icane's."

"Yeah," Jesse says. "I'm gonna try to go back to sleep."

"Goodnight," Nanette says.

Jesse goes to sleep.

Petra sighs, watching her friend. "I can't believe she has this now. First the twins and now this. It's crazy don't you think Lukas?"

"At least everyone's being taken care of..." Lukas says.

"Yeah," Petra says.

Jesse adjusts, breathing heavily again.

"Oh she must be having another pain," Petra says, watching her. She hears her say "ow..." once, and she sighs.

"This disease must only be in your world, Hannah studies diseases a lot..." Nanette says.

"It'll be okay," Petra says, and she hears Feona in the other room. "Oh Lukas, Feona is for some reason awake. Can you go check on her?"

"Yeah," Lukas says, going into the room Feona is in.
