His eyes burning but he wasn't going to move until there was some progress.
A hint.
At least a hint.
He moved his free hand through his messed up hair.
His mind flashed again on to that slight moment, reminding him of a painful memory.
He remembered her smile while her soft fingers played with his black silver hair. The way her body would fit against his while they hugged and then she would throw back her head and laugh.
The light would twinkle through her hair and that very moment, Levi would be holding an angel in his arms.
Maia's absence was killing him.
It hurt so much. So painful that it was nearly unbearable. He shook his head as his eyes twitched with pain.
No. He had to concentrate and find her.
And that too before that asshole Aidan.
It was like both of them were having a competition of finding Maia first. A way to prove who is more worthy of her love. But recently, things were more shaky for Levi, because Aidan had joined Lana recently. And Lana was already many steps ahead from him.
And that too hurt him.
Since that incident in the Oberain Mansion, Levi and Lana hadn't talked, only simple nods and nothing else. He knew that Lana was still angry with him because of what he had done. He also knows that he was wrong to have said that.
That day, when Levi hadn't found Maia at the airport, he had come back, furious. After coming back, he had screamed at Lana, blaming her for whatever had happened to Maia, whatever she had faced. He had stated that he loathed her for separating his love from him. But at that moment he had forgotten that Lana had lost her sister, her brother, her father and her mother.
All in a single day.
He didn't think how hurt she was.
And while he screamed she had just stood there. Like nothing affected her. But Levi could read her eyes, for the first time ever.
And yes, he could see her soul shattering, completely.
But only watching it shatter, he had felt satisfied for some reason. Like breaking her, soothed him. But now, the regret had settled in. Head first. He was so stupid to have let something come between them. He had left Lana when she needed him so much.
That day when he was done screaming, Lana had simply come forward, patted his shoulders and went away, walking alone with her shoulder squared back. That time too, Levi had despised her, for being rather looking so unaffected and strong.
He had wanted her to show some reaction, anything but she didn't. And the Lana he knew now was that.
Andrea. Strong. Brave. But mostly cold.
He had wanted to talk to her during the funeral, but he couldn't bring himself to.
He had done a mistake then. And he was doing it now.
As if on cue, she walked up behind him.
He knew that he didn't want this. He only wanted his angel.
But right now, he craved love. So much. And she was the only one giving it to him.
She hugged him from behind and brought her lips closer to his ear, while he sat there, anticipating her next words.
"Hey." She whispered softly and then kissed his ear. He wanted to feel good about this contact, but he didn't. He forced himself to relax.
You want this. He thought to himself.
"Hey." He said back and got up to meet her sly smile and hazy eyes.
"Why don't we go out somewhere for sometime? You look stressed." She said and then made those eyes which honestly didn't suit her.
It suited only one person.
Forget about her. He said to himself.
"Okay." He said. "Okay Hannah."
And then he pulled her to him and closed his eyes.'Learn to love, Levi. Learn to love.'
He repeated. Again. And again. Again.
But her eyes still flashed up in front of him.
And he cringed.
