"You really don't like it?" Olivia asked.

"Nope. Not at all." Lana answers simply. Of course.

She hates Romeo Juliet.

"It's pure tragic. A doomed relationship. There is nothing to like about it." She states.

They are walking to the cafeteria for lunch from their English lesson together.

Lana liked to detach herself from her group of friends in school, especially with the spy in the gang, she didn't know who to trust.

So she was trying to befriend other people. While talking they reached the cafeteria and Olivia moved to her friends.

Lana was again left scanning the place. Her eyes landed on an empty table in the corner and she moved towards it. She was just about to sit down when someone called her from the back.

"Hey LANA! Come join us!" Lana turned around to see Rachel waving her over, smiling. Lana's eyes moved towards Daria sitting across from her and she raised her eyebrows at Rachel.

"Oh come on!" Rachel insisted. Sighing Lana moved over and sat down beside her.

For minutes it was awkward. Lana noticed the guitar lying beside Daria while she typed away on her phone, eyebrows scrunched up in concentration.

Then Rachel spoke up. "You didn't give me your number stupid! How was I supposed to call you?" She asked and Lana face-palmed herself.

God! So stupid of her to judge Rachel when she was the one to be blamed.
She wrote it down on Rachel's knnapkin and watched as Rachel feeded it in her phone.

Again. Silence.

"So. . . ?" Rachel said, looking at Daria who seemed too busy on the phone to notice anything.

But she looked up, huffed, set aside her phone and straightened herself and began, "See, I'm sorry about that day. I was just pissed at someone and it came out on you." She spoke, looking genuinely guilty for her previous behaviour.

Lana smiled softly at her.

"It's okay." She said and Daria smiled back at her, something that Lana was surprised to see.

Lana had seen Daria around school alot. But she had never seen her smile like this. She was normally seen looking ahead and walking with her headphones on. Lana was filled with warmth as she registered Daria's smile.

It transformed her. She looked beautiful. And Lana thought how Daria should do this more often.

Smile more often.

Daria stretched out her hand towards Lana. "So let's start again. I'm Daria Lynn." She said, smiling.

Lana smiled widely.

"I'm Lana Wilson, Uh-" She paused. "Sorry, I'm Andrea Francisco Oberain." She said and Daria looked at her normally.

"Yeah. I know you. You are Levi Thompson's best friend." She stated.

Lana looked at her awkwardly.
"I guess you can say that."

Daria smiled again. And then took out her laptop from her bag. She was just about to say something when the whole cafeteria went silent.

Lana lifted her eyes to follow the direction to where everyone was looking. And her eyes widened.

Right in the middle of the cafeteria, the table occupied by her friends, Damien sat with Hazel on his lap, kissing him. They were lustfully locking lips and exchanging saliva, putting on a show for everyone to watch.

Lana's mouth went dry. It was different to see him with girls and completely different to see him kissing them.

Lana was just about to look away when Damien's eyes caught hers. He looked at her as if expecting a reaction but Lana was clever. She didn't give any.

Instead she simply passed a blank look and watched as Hazel pulled away.

The whole cafeteria was bustling again. But this time she noticed that half of them were looking her way. Lana had to prove a point now.

She took out her lunch box from her bag and started munching on fries.
The cafeteria filled up with noise again. Daria and Rachel looked at her but Lana nodded, gesturing that she was okay.

They both started talking again. But Lana wasn't listening to them. Her mind was fixed on the fact that Damien would go this far. He wasn't like this, not one bit.

Then what was wrong?

He hadn't even come once to the gang house though he should have, considering that they had merged their gang before he had had the accident. And he was fighting with her at a time that she needed him so much.

Just as she was drifting further into the thoughts, she heard commotion break near the cafeteria door.

"YOU CAN'T DO THAT?!" Hannah screamed. Levi looked at her.

"Yes I can. And I am doing it." He said clearly irritated.

He was turning around to walk away when Hannah held on to his jacket. "YOU CAN'T BREAK UP WITH ME!" She screamed.

Levi looked at her with annoyance, shrugged her hand from his jacket and moved towards the centre table. He sat down beside Sarah and spoke up loudly, "SUCK IT UP HANNAH!"

Hannah looked pissed. Livid.

She stalked towards Levi and brought her face merely inches away from his face.

"You are going to pay for this asshole." She whispered and then walked out of the cafeteria.

Everyone was silent again. Their line of sight towards Levi Thompson. The Prince Charming.

Guess it's not just Damien.

Lana started thinking again.

There was once a time when Levi didn't even look at any girl except Sarah and her.

And now?

Lana huffed. She knew there was no point thinking about it.

She noticed that Daria was smirking ever so slightly. She was sure she heard Daria murmur something along the line of 'Thank God he got rid of that bitch'. But Lana dismissed the fact.

Everyone started talking again. But Lana remained deep in thoughts.

Then suddenly she heard the low hum of a song. She looked up sharply at Daria as Daria hummed on the tune of 'Army by Ellie Goulding'.

"You know that song?" She asked. Daria smiled at her.

"Yeah I do. Why?" Daria asked.

Lana shook her head. "Nothing. It's just my favourite song." Daria smiled at her knowingly and then went back to talking to Rachel.

After some moments Lana heard Rachel saying, "What do you think Lana?"

Lana smiled at her slyly. She didn't know what they were talking about. Rachel repeated.

"Lets hangout sometime?" She offered.

"And I could make you listen to more songs. You might like them." Daria added.

Lana smiled. "That would be great." She said, filled with warmth at their sweet gesture.

"Why don't you guys come over at my place?" She asked. Both Rachel and Daria nodded at her reassuringly as Lana grabbed Rachel's knapkin again and wrote down her address.

It felt good to finally let go of everything else and just look forward to a simple visit from friends.

For minutes, Lana felt normal.
