Lana stared between the two boys sitting across each other, observing the tension in the crowded room.
But still, she couldn't stop smiling and she didn't care about the daggers being thrown either ways from both the boys.
Right now, all that mattered was the presence of the dark haired boy and those lively crystal-like blue eyes that glanced at her everyone in a while.
Damien still hadn't explained his sudden 'show-up' till now and Lana didn't seem to care because all she wanted was to jump at him and hug the daylights out of him.
Lana shook her head. She couldn't possibly waste time simply staring at him. She had no time to waste.
She had to find Maia too.
She coughed awkwardly.
"So Damien, this is Henry Wilson and this is my gang. Rather, our gang."
And she went on explaining.
Going through with the explanations about everything that had happened and was happening.
All through this, she completely ignored the spiteful looks passed by the boys. She had no time for boy drama right now.
"...... So we need to find Maia as soon as possible because now that she doesn't remember, she wouldn't know what's right or what's wrong. And especially after that accident 7 months ago, I think she is too sensitive." Lana huffed.
She couldnt, rather she will not start crying on it again.
No. She had to cease as much time as possible.
Because she was going to remain true to her promise to Maia.
"I will always protect you and I will love you even if you forget who I am."
And then she had kissed her sister's head.
That was the last proper conversation that they had had.
Lana blinked again.
No. Not last. There were more to come soon.
And then she felt a warm hand snake around her waist and the sandalwood scent slowly embraced her.
She became stiff.
She didn't want this. Especially not infront of Damien.
"It's going to be fine Lana. We are all here to help you out. And we will find her soon. Now that even Damien is back." Lana noticed the sharp edge in Henry's voice at the last statement.
She looked up only to see Damien's eyes throwing daggers at the arm on her waist.
She moved away a bit and got up. Looking straight at Damien she announced, "I would like some lone time, you all can move out for now."
And then looking at Henry, who was sitting right beside her before she got up, she said, "Thank you Henry. Thank you so much."
She bent down to hug him and at the same moment he got up to move. There was a subtle collision of bodies as Lana fell against Henry's chest.
Time didn't slow down. Instead it all happened pretty fast.
Henry caught Lana and his lips slightly grazed hers as her eyes widened to register the sudden movement.
And in a mere second he pushed her back, nodded his head and whispered, "Anything for you", and vanished outside the door.
What surprised Lana more was the fast beating of her heart and the empty breaths that she was taking and how she could still feel her lips tingling from the warmth of his lips on hers.
Involuntarily, she brought her fingers up to her lips, still staring into the direction that Henry disappeared.
That is when she noticed the silence in the room. She looked around to see everyone staring at her intently, as if they were trying to contemplate her next move.
She coughed awkwardly to which everyone moved out slowly. Everyone except Damien, whose eyes held a stony expression.
She moved closer to him. She was aware of the closed door behind her, the electricity vibrating off all the walls of the room and especially the wrath rushing off from Damien.
But surprisingly, he didn't stop her advance. His eyes slid down her body and came to rest at the ring on her ring. The ring he had given her. She raised her hand to his cheek but his hand came up to stop her touch.
"How long?" He asked.
Lana frowned. "What are you talking ab-"
"How long have you been with him?" Damien said sternly, his whole demeanor cold.
"It's not what you think Da-"
"It surely was not. It was something more. I came back for you Lana. Your love kept me sane. But not for this. No." Damien said looking straight.
"You are assuming things Damien. You know you can't be replaced. I love-"
He cut her off again.
"Please. Save your breath. Don't Lana. Don't try to explain something that you possibly can't." Having said this, Damien walked out.
Leaving Lana in despair.
But she was mostly confused.
Because surprisingly, she didn't feel the urge to go behind him, explain. If he loved her, he wouldn't need an explanation.
But she guessed it wasn't true after all.
Love needs explanations.
Because it kills. Solely. Completely.
Huffing to herself, she moved out anyway.
