'HE COULDN'T LOSE HIMSELF ALL OVER AGAIN.'

Xavier opened the door of the mansion and stepped in softly. He sighed to himself, registering the silence. There used to be a time when this mansion used to be filled and always noisy.

But now, the silence was heavy enough to break the walls. He looks up and is surprised to see Maia sitting infront of the TV on the sofa. The television was not switched on but Maia was staring at it blankly with her eyes wide open. He frowned.

He still didn't know what was up with her so he slowly advanced towards her. It was after so many days that she was outside her room. And he had to know what was wrong.

He was still advancing when Maia spoke up.

"Who are you?" And Xavier froze in his track.

What did she mean?

"You know me Maia." He stated and Maia, her back still faced to him, raised her hand to stop him.

"No. Really. Who are you?" And he realises that Maia remembers.

He feels the panic building up inside him, so he rushed to the sofa. Xavier reached forward, his hand out stretched to touch her. But just then, Maia flinches, moving away from his touch.

Xavier's eyes widened.

It looked like she was scared of him.

He withdraws his hand and moves away from her.

"I am who you know me to be. Xavier Black. Just not your brother. And you are Maia. Maia Obe-"

"Maia Ann Jacklyn Oberain. I know." She completes, still not looking at him. Xavier sighs.

She wasn't going to understand.

"Why?" She asks, still looking ahead blankly. Xavier didn't understand.

What was she asking about? Which one of the 'why's did he have to answer?

Because there were so many.

"Why did you do it? Why pretend?" She asks. Xavier knew that he should explain now but the threats seemed to echo in his ears.

"I had my reasons Maia." He says simply, looking at her blankly. Maia turns her head sharply towards him.

"You had reasons to separate me from my family? You had reasons to make me forget them?" She seethed.

"You had reasons to RAPE ME?" She screamed.

At this, Xavier frowned.

What was she talking about?

"What do you mean?" Xavier asked and Maia scoffed at that.

"Oh! It's high time you stop lying Xavier." She said, sharply.

He got angry. "I am NOT lying?!" He said and looked into her eyes. He wanted her to read it in his eyes, see that he really didn't know.

And it happened. Maia looks away.

"Then tell me. Tell me everything. From the very start till the very end." She said softly.

Xavier thought over it. He wanted her to know and this time he was going to. Even though he had too much to lose.

"Fine. Fine. I'll tell you everything." He said. He was just about to dive into the story when Maia speaks up again.

"First tell me. Tell me that whatever happened between us wasn't a part of the plan." She says and looks at him, asking him to reassure her. Tell her that she wasn't losing him. Not this way.
