CHAPTER 31

Seven months to me seemed seven years. Ang dami kong nagawa eh. After graduation, Logan and I with the rest of the circle went to Santorini for a vacation. When I returned, dad placed me in position in the company just enough for me to start with my business-driven goals. I'm under Uno's department and supervision soooo that was the uncool part of it. Haha. But anyway, he kind of spoils me sometimes so maybe I should just take back the uncool thing in my description. Not only that, the reason why I've come to realize that the seven long months were like seven years is because while I've had about more than twenty ex-girlfriends, Uno has introduced us one. Oh, not an ex! Yup, he introduced a girlfriend to a family after mom and I caught them in the middle of something. Tsk. I still remember that morning. Yikes, funny.

"Hey birthdaaaay boy!" Sigaw ni Logan from the other end of the line. Nasa opisina ako ngayon, tinatamad kaya walang ginagawa kundi makipagkwentuhan kay Logan na naka-based sa Cebu.

"Damn it man. The party's postponed. It will be in three days so be sure to be here." I did it for him anyway. Tito Arman is not giving him the special treatment as Logan's dad requested.  

"Hey. You should get yourself a girlfriend...like a serious one. Hindi 'yong para kang mamamatay kapag wala ako diyan."

"Ang tigas ng mukha nito. Gago. I've had more than twenty ex-girlfriends in seven months and basing it on facts, you have had none. Umaasa?"

"Tsk. Shut up dude. I'm just trying to prove her that I am serious and I can wait." Seryosong sagot niya na nagpangisi sa'kin.

"You don't even know where she is. Baka nga may asawa na 'yon." Pang-aasar ko.

"Gago ka. Sige na. Baka mahuli ako ni tito Arman dito. Lagot na naman ako. Todo sumbong 'yon kay dad."

This jerk. Ba't nga ba ako magpapa-party for a post-birthday celebration? Of course Dos, your mom is the main reason. Gusto talaga no'n ng may gatherings. I get to see my annoying titas and titos, asking me about cheesy stuff lalo na ngayong may girlfriend na si Uno. Good heavens! I will just turn twenty and they're pressuring me and my brother to go settle down. These jerks!

Secondly, last year was a bittersweet birthday. The day after that was wonderful.

Fuck Dos. Stop remembering things that aren't going to happen again. Hoy Brook, hindi na kita mahal kaya 'wag ka ng sumingit sa utak ko. Woooah, alam ko na. Let's make the party wild.

Man, I'll invite all my exgirlfriends to the party. Any thought? Don't bother because they're surely junk.

Tumawa ako mag-isa matapos isend ang message kay Logan.

Days passed by in a blur. I didn't notice that it'll be my post-birthday party. And as planned, most of my ex-girlfriends came even the ones I didn't send an invitation, Jea in particular. Our grandparents, mom's crazy bestfriends and some relatives were there too. But I really was so grateful of Uno that he has finally gotten himself a girlfriend. Sila lang kaya ang pinagtuonan ng pansin ng lahat. That means, I can do whatever I want without everybody noticing.

Anyway, Gabriella looks like a really nice girl and even though I don't want my brothers to fall in love and end up like me, I want her so bad for Uno. Everyone's treating her like our real sister. I do too. She's adorable but perhaps not the one of my type. Besides, Uno might look prim and proper but really, he knows how to punch and he's really good at it. And the heck, does jealous run in our blood? Damn, Uno's blood is probably made up of jealous plasma and possessive cells. Haha.

"Happy birthday, brother!" Sigaw ni Logan mula sa likuran ko. Kakarating niya lang at kasama ko si Rio at ang mga kabarkada namin ni Logan sa academy.
