I hurried through the halls of my school, the afternoon sun peeking through the tall windows. With my Luis Vuitton book bag clutched to my chest, I had to get to that special place as soon as possible.
No one could see where I was going, no one could follow me. But, admittedly, I looked very suspicious.
Good thing everyone at this school pretends I don't exist.
"Yuri, where are you going?" My only friend, Hyeri, called after me as I passed her by. "Let's eat lunch together!"
"Bathroom!" I lied, scurrying away.
I didn't give her any time to question me, because I disappeared down the hall quickly. Before I knew it, I was already outside of the luxury campus. I wandered into the cluster of trees just behind the school. And immediately picked out the knotted tree that I always read under. It provided pretty good shade, and always was a peaceful place to hide away.
Attending this school was ridiculously expensive, but this tree made it all well worth it.
I stopped in front of the tree and set my stuff down, leaning my back against the bark.
'Any second now...'
While I was alone, I took the chance to fix my makeup and outfit. I pulled my socks above my knees and adjusted my skirt. I have to look perfect right now.
"Yuri." His voice called my name ever so softly. And he seemed appear out of thin air.
"Shownu." I murmured. He stepped out from behind the tree, my eyes roaming his special 'Prince' uniform.
Everything about him was princely, even the angelic aura that he gave off. I felt honored to be in his presence every second.
He quickly closed the distance between the two of us, arms wrapping around my waist. He pulled me into a fleeting kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling his solid body closer to mine.
See, there is a reason that Shownu and I have to meet in secret. We can't be seen openly holding hands together at school, because we were too... different.
It would ruin Shownu's image if anyone found out that we were together.
Allow me to explain. Shownu is the 'Prince' of our school. He's ranked number one out of all of us here. That rank of 'number one' had almost nothing to do with grades and everything to do with money. But it still held a lot of power. 'Princes' of the school often went on to become top CEOs and businessmen in Korea.
We attend a school for rich kids, and he is as rich as they come.
This school had a build-in hierarchy. So obviously I ranked right at the bottom. People pretend I don't exist when they're not making fun of me.
Shownu's family own a multi-billion dollar empire. My family owned a coffee show.
I was dust in comparison to him.
