After the long school day, I sat in Shownu's car, plagued by silence. We hadn't talked about the dance at all. Part of me was scared to hear him talk about that night or Harin.

But... I knew it would ease my stress if I just asked.

"S-so..." I finally spoke up, clearing my throat, "H-how was... the formal?"

Shownu glanced over at me, the shadow of a smile on his face, "It was fun. Kind of boring, honestly, but fun."

'Fun...?' I thought, somewhat worried.

"But you were so stressed about it," I muttered, "I thought..."

"It's true, I was stressed," Shownu chuckled, "I mean, I wasn't thrilled about Wonho being your date. So I just tried to make the best of the situation."

'Hanging out with a supermodel is definitely 'the best,'' I thought, frowning.

"Were you surprised about Harin?' I asked meekly.

Shownu sort of shrugged, "I was definitely surprised Wonho picked her. We were childhood friends back in the day. So it was just like a family reunion."

'Shownu already knew her?' I wondered, brow raised.

I wondered if Harin was always so beautiful. And I further wondered what their friendship was like.

"We spent the whole night reminiscing about our childhood," Shownu continued, "She moved to Paris to start her modeling career at twelve, so it's been ages since we last saw each other."

"Twelve?!" I exclaimed.

I couldn't imaging moving to Paris, on my own, and starting a modeling career so young.

Shownu nodded, "It's pretty normal, actually. Models start young, especially in Paris."

"Weird," I muttered, "So... what do you think of... Harin?"

"That's a weird question," Shownu chuckled, "But she's cool," Shownu stared out the window, "I could see us being friends again. Actually, you two are very similar."

"We are?" I asked, my ears perking up.

It was definitely a compliment. If I was similar to a supermodel in any way, I could die happy.

Shownu nodded, smiling at me, "You're both kind. And very humble."

'Well I have a reason to be humble, I'm not that great,' I chuckled.

"I think you two could be really good friends," Shownu continued, "You should give her a chance."

"Maybe I should..."

"Honey, we're out of cooking oil," My mom peeked her head into my room as I was finishing my homework, "Can you run out and get some?"

The request was a relief, because I needed a break from my homework. I slipped into flip flops and grabbed some money from my mom. A grocery store was just down the street, and I was craving banana milk.

"Make sure you get the right brand of grape seed oil," my mom called after me.

"I know!" I called back, giving her a thumbs up.

With my wallet shoved in my sweat pockets, I started the short trek down the hill. I waved to some of my neighbors as they passed, and took a moment to pet some of their dogs. Eventually I stopped at the Lotte Mart.
