Chapter Forty Three: Tea Time

The next day, I woke up at around 10 am. I was completely exhausted from all the emotional turmoil going on in my life. It was finally good to get at least a little bit of sleep after two sleepless nights. But, today was a big day. Today would be the day I make the whole Lee Conglomerate hate me.

That thought put a smile on my face.

I hopped out of bed and headed to take a shower. I hummed a bit of a song in my head as I shampooed my hair, using the purple shampoo that Minhyuk suggested, plotting how I would act today. I wasn't a rude person so, under any other circumstances, the idea of being mean to someone on purpose would make me uncomfortable. But now, it made me laugh.

These people were ruining my life, so I was going to look down my nose at them. I planned on channeling my inner Jennie all day.

I'm talking pretentious, bitchy, and full of audacity. That is the girl I would pretend to be.

I blow-dryed my hair, looking at my cold eyes reflected in the mirror. Though my mind was on fire and I was ready to get revenge, my heart was frozen. It was easier to distract myself from thoughts of Shownu with pure rage.

I tried to imagine an outfit that would scare off Wonho's father; something that instantly made a father think: "my son can't marry this girl!"

Of course, I could just wear something that had my ass and/or tits out. But that simply wouldn't be good enough.

I need to be the opposite of "daughter-in-law material."

So I searched for an article, one titled "How to Dress When Meeting Your Boyfriend's Family." And I was going to do the exact opposite of what this list suggested.

First, the article advises that looks don't matter as much as a good personality, so be kind. I rolled my eyes at that bullshit. Yeah right, I was going to be the most massive bitch possible.

The next step suggested that you should dress cute, but conservative, with light colors. Maybe wear a skirt, something mid-length. And, most importantly, the article warned not to show off your shoulder. Because, of course, showing off back and shoulders in Korea is considered too sexy.

I had the perfect outfit in mind. I dug through my drawers to find the one shirt my parents disapproved of. It was a cropped, one-shoulder, white shirt. I loved the shirt, it was super cute when I bought it a couple years ago. But I was always too afraid to wear it out. Now I had the perfect occasion for it.

There was no way in hell I was wearing a skirt today, so I had to decide on jeans. It didn't take long for me to find the perfect pants. They were faux leather pants that laced up in the front. For shoes, I put combat boots.

Instead, I was dressing like I was going to war; because, in a way, I was.
