"I need to make an appointment for a meeting."
"I'm sorry. Mr. Lee is busy today."
"Not with Wonho, with you."
Seolhyun stopped typing away at her computer, looking up slowly.
She gave me a strange look.
Seolhyun didn't immediately recognize my voice, and she must have been confused by my hair color change, but now she knew who I was.
"What the hell-" Seolhyun's voice started off confrontational. But she corrected herself quickly, forcing a customer-service-smile. A couple octaves higher, and through a forced sweet voice, she continued. "I mean, what can I help you with today?"
Rather than beating around the bush, I got straight to the point.
"I need to speak to you." Cautiously, I glanced around the large building. Wonho or Shownu could appear at any second now. And I didn't want either of them seeing me. "But not here."
Wonho could not know that I was interrogating this girl. If we spoke in this building, then he could show up any second. A private setting was the best for this sort of scene.
Seolhyun immediately became suspicious. She sat back in her chair, arms folded over her chest, visibly weighing her options. After a moment of deep interception, Seolhyun inquired, "What could you possibly need to talk to little old me about?" Her voice was just as antagonizing as ever.
She was definitely taunting me.
"You'll have to come with me to find out," I replied, matching her condescending tone.
Girl like Seolhyun loved mystery and drama. To pique her interest, I had to keep her on edge.
'Hurry up and agree already.'
Seolhyun raised a perfectly manicured brow, the shimmer shadow that adorned her lid sparkling under the light. The two of us became trapped in a staring contest. In that short time, I memorized almost all over her features.
'Yeah, she's pretty. But is she pretty enough to tempt Wonho?'
Seolhyun had a slender nose with a high bridge, and almond shaped eyes that were accentuated by liner. Her lips were not that plump but had a pretty shape.
'Enough thinking, more intimidating.'
I narrowed my eyes, hoping to win this staring contest. Eventually Seolhyun cracked a smile, looking away from me.
"Fine," she replied. "I have a break in about ten minutes. I usually spend it at the Starbucks across the street. Let's chat there."
I forced a smile. 'Perfect.'
I was on autopilot, finding my way to the Starbucks.
My mind was blank as I went through the motions of things; ordering my drink, finding a table, and waiting for Seolhyun to arrive. I tried to get comfortable in my chair. But I simply could not relax. The coffee that I ordered was in my grasp, but I hadn't taken a single sip of it.
This was a turning-point moment for me. It could be monumentous. Depending on what happens in the next fifteen minutes, I may be calling off the engagement. Or I may be apologizing profusely for accusing Wonho.
Today, I would confirm or deny my suspicions once and for all.
As if on cue, I heard the lofty footsteps of Seolhyun approaching. She was as nonchalant as ever with an abundance of energy. Her ignorance to the situation was even more infuriating.
