I was not ready to be alone with Korea's richest man, and the father of my archnemisis. This sudden proposition was coming out of left-field. I wasn't prepared to keep up my bitchy facade as we walked out into the silent hallway.

Mr. Lee put a hand on the back of my shoulder, leading me to a different room. I followed meekly along as we stepped into a gorgeous hallway.

The walls were white with pieces of art framing each pillar.

Mr. Lee took his hand away from my back once we were along. He walked slowly, arms behind his back, as I followed after him.

'Where are we going?' I wondered, glancing around nervously.

"S-so-" I tried to break the ice, but Mr. Lee spoke before I could say anything else.

"Could you do me a favor, Yuri?" Mr. Lee asked, voice optimistic.

His vague question hung in the air, echoing off the tall walls.

"I guess," I replied.

'What kind of dumbass question is that?' I wondered, fiddling my hands nervously.

"I just hope that you can promise me something," Mr. Lee continued, "Promise me you'll never break Wonho's heart."

He turned to look at me, a serious expression on his face. His gaze held the weight off his net worth.

"I can't promise that," I replied, heart racing in my chest.

After all, I was hoping to break his heart so he would never speak to me again.

Mr. Lee smiled, nodding warmly, "That's exactly what I want to hear."

'Are you fucking kidding me?' I groaned internally. It seemed like nothing I did made this man hate me.

"If you told me you would never break Wonho's heart, then you would be lying to me," Mr. Lee explained, continuing to walk along the hallway, "I just hope that you try not to hurt him. He has already suffered enough."

I quirked my brow, intrigued.

I couldn't imagine the words "suffer" and "Wonho" in the same sentence. Unless it was a sentence describing how insufferable he is.

"You see, Wonho's mother died under... bad cirumstances. She was very sick," Mr. Lee explained, "My dear son stayed at her bedside and took care of her until she took her last breath..."

'Wonho has... compassion?'

It came as a shock to me. He seemed to ridiculously self-centered. I could never imagine Wonho taking care of anyone aside from himself.

"After his mom died, Wonho spiralled," Mr. Lee explained, sighing solemnly, "I won't get into the details, but he got into... some mischievous endeavors. And I was so worried about him. I didn't know what else to do to keep him in line. So, as a last ditch effort, I enrolled him in Shinwa Academy. It made a man out of me, and I hoped it would do the same for him. But, honestly, I didn't expect it to work. I thought I would have to send him to a boarding school in the United States."
