Pain.

All I felt was pain. My entire body was sore, covered in scrapes and bruises. I'm sure a broke a bone or two after the explosion. My heavy eyes slowly opened. My first reaction was to panic, letting out a strangled scream.

In my mind, I was still trapped under tons of cinderblock. The last conscience memory that I had, an entire building was crashing down on me. I expected to feel a crushing weight unlike any that I'd felt before. I was ready to fight for my life to get myself into a safe place.

I sat up quickly, my eyes darting around.

To my dismay, I found myself in a hospital bed. I looked up tentatively, finding an in-tact roof. It was a relief to see that the ceiling above me wasn't caved-in.

'How did I manage to survive?'

It must have been God's plan or sheer dumb luck...

This must be the feeling that Drake raps about.

A pain that I initially didn't notice ripped through my chest and torso. It forced me to slowly lean back into the stack of pillows behind me.

You see, during those critical moments, I had an escape plan. During his villain monologue, while Mr. Lee was distracted, I was slowly slicing away at the rope around my wrists. It was a difficult task, and I sliced much of my hand up during the process. But it was worth it to free my hands. Once he left, I ran.

I just wasn't fast enough, even with an ungodly amount of adrenaline running through me veins. The building came falling down on my, I remembered that distinctly.

The muffled sounds of fireworks would haunt my nightmares for years to come.

'Who found me? Who pulled me out of the wreckage?'

I could hear a creaking sound before a familiar voice called, "She's awake!"

Soon I was swarmed by three familiar faces. Shownu, Minhyuk and Wonho stood at my bedside, doting over me.

"Are you okay?"

"How are you feeling?"

"Do you need water?"

My mind was spinning as I tried to get my bearing on reality.

First, I wondered how I survived the collapse. Then I started to wonder how the hell the three of them even knew where to find me.

"Visitors!" a bellowing voice chastised, "Take three steps back."

The three men complied, taking large steps away from my hospital bed. It gave way for the doctor, who approached me. "Mr. Kwon?"

My first words came out shaky and hoarse, "Yes?"

"Can you recite your birthdate please?" He asked.

"May 29, 2020..."

"What's your mother's maiden name?"

This question took a moment to recall, "Yang."

The doctor nodded in approval. "Your memory seems to be in tact," he muttered. "We'll still run a brain scan to make sure there are no major injuries." He scribbled some things down on his clipboard. "You will have to remain in the hospital, since you're recovering from many injuries." He peeled back sheets or paper, assessing my record. "At least three fractures, a break in your tibia and fibula... and a bruised sternum, alone with many abrasions." My eyes widened in shock as he listed off my injuries. "You're lucky to be alive." The doctor turned to Wonho, adding, "I'll tell the police that she's awake."
