Reaching for me.

Wanting to grab me.

I heard the shadows uttering grunts and growls, and my legs quivered.

What did they want with me?

Wait. Did they know that I was the hero? Did they recognize me?

A breeze kicked up, and I crossed my arms and shivered.

Why was it suddenly cold?

I could not ponder that logic any longer.

Because one of the blue-eyed shadows gripped its cold, black hand on my arm.

And I shouted ever so loudly.
