"You failed me, you know."

"How could I? I did my part."

The man was standing in front of a tall mirror, both of his arms behind his back. One person would think that he was crazy for having a conversation with such an object, such as a mirror. But he was not crazy.

And he was not alone.

"What good did it do to send the boy to your realm?" the man questioned.

His reflection was shown in the mirror, and lights from above were shining down on the glass, causing his reflection to glisten.

Soon, the sparkle disappeared, and the reflection changed. It went from pale skin and lab coat to black.

All black.

Red eyes replaced the reflection's human eyes, and every part of the mirror's glass became black. The upper portion of the eyes also turned black, like the person was frowning.

"It was the perfect plan," the shadow from the mirror spoke. "The boy was a crybaby. He would never escape."

"However, he did," the man said.

The shadow growled. "With help."

"Was it Laura?!" The man gripped the sides of the mirror. The sides were painted gold and had designs on them. "Was it?!"

"Yes, as well as two others. One of whom that I killed, and the other was my 'good' daughter, Karla." He paused, and then continued. "I tried shutting Laura up, but she was clever. She knew my tactics and won the battle!"

The human narrowed his eyebrows. "Why did you kill her, Oberious?"

"Pardon me?"

"Why did you kill her?!"

"You mean Laura?"

"Yes! My wife!"

"Oh, let us not have this argument again!" Oberious crossed his shadowy arms. "How many times do I have to tell you? You and Laura did not get married!"

"We did, you shadow!" The man let go of the mirror. "She still loves me!"

"She moved on!"

"No!" He picked up a hammer. The hammer was old, and the handle of it was rusty. "If you do not want to help me, then fine! I will destroy the last mirror in town that you and your people have a chance of surviving!" He raised the hammer.

Having no other choice, Oberious surrendered. "Alright! The Nerians will help you!"

The human smirked and lowered the hammer. "Glad that we see things from my perspective."

The shadow sighed. "Yes, Maxwell."
