Hansel and I hurried out of the house. Thankfully for us, the front door was not locked like it was before. I pulled on the door. It would not budge.

"Hey," I said. "I thought that the door was not supposed to be locked. I just stated to our readers that it was supposed to be open!"

I heard snickering and turned to where it was coming from.

It was Hansel. He was carrying our bags that we had left behind.

"Guess what?" he spoke. "I found our bags!"

I was a bit surprised. I had forgotten about our personal belongings. It was probably because I lost track. You know. Being in a house with a monster and getting tied up by an insane scientist.

"It is a good thing that you found our stuff," I said. "I completely forgot. Where did you find them?"

"In the corner. By the front door." He motioned to the dark corner that was to the left.

"How...how did we not notice before?"

He shrugged. "We were probably too focused on the Creature From Beyond. And the corner is pretty dark." He examined the corner. "But I do not recall leaving the bags by the door. Somebody must have moved them."

A shiver went down my spine, and my teeth chattered. The fact that my brother had to suggest that someone - anyone - could have touched and moved around our belongings. That was enough to send me bolting out of that house.

I pulled on the door again. It still would not budge.

"What is wrong with this door?!"

Hansel cleared his throat. "Allow me." He gave me my bag and grabbed the doorknob. He twisted the knob and pushed - pushed - on the door, and the door opened. "And that is how you do it."

I felt like my face was getting pale. I felt like a complete idiot.

We stepped onto the porch. I closed the door behind us.

"Say, I saw Jack give you something," Hansel commented.

"How?" I wondered. We stepped off the porch and began walking to the sidewalk. "You were in the other room."

"I watched. But I did not listen in on your conversation. I just saw him give you an object."

I let out a sigh of relief. I was glad that he did not hear me and Jack. I did not want my twin to know that Jack and Jill were aliens.

I pointed at my neck. There was a piece of jewelry around my neck.

"Jack gave me a necklace," I informed him. "It is a cross."

Hansel examined my new necklace. "Nice."

The cross was purple and had a blue jewel in the center. I was guessing that the jewel was fake and replicated a sapphire. The cross was tied by a black string. But I did not care if it was attached to string. Both the cross and jewel were beautiful.

We were almost to the sidewalk, when something jumped at us by surprise. We cried out.

It was the Creature From Beyond.

It was standing on the sidewalk. In front of us.

But it did not stay there for long.

It let out a whimper and scurried off.

Hansel grinned. "Ha! I think that he has learned to not mess with us! After all, we escaped the house!"

That was when we heard moaning. Coming from behind.

And it sounded close.

We slowly turned. And cried out once again.

There were zombie-like creatures. Heading towards us.

I then noticed a hand on my shoulder and slowly looked up. I gasped.

It was Aunt Katrina.
