I hurled myself at Katherine and Maxine. I jumped onto Katherine's back and wrapped my fingers around her neck, gripping it tightly.

It was payback time!

She almost killed me in my sleep and in real life, so I was going to return the favor. By killing her.

If I can kill shadows.

I grunted as I squeezed her neck, my fingertips burying themselves into dark flesh. I wrapped my legs around her to keep from falling and squeezed her stomach with my feet.

"Nobody hurts my friend!" I shouted. "Not even you!"

With each squeeze, I watched as her shadowy neck grew smaller and smaller by the second.

I was doing it! I was killing her! I was killing my enemy.

"What is the matter?" I said, smirking. "Cat got your tongue?"

"Nope. Time has her tongue."

"Hmm?" I looked at my surroundings. "Who...who is there?" The voice did not sound like Katherine's. Or Maxine's.

"Do not be alarmed, young one," the voice reassured me. "I have come to help."

"W-who are you?" I asked.

"I...am Nora the Wise."
