England was gloomy.
I hated how gloomy it was from the moment I stepped off the plane, I hadn't informed my parents I was coming to England so that was another thing I was going to have to contend with.
Dean was chirpy though, he held my hand as we went through border control smiling at me as we just walked casually.
"You two are walking so slow," Roman piped up as he caught up with us a smile on his face.
Dean shrugged his shoulders, "We've got all day," Dean pointed out as he put his fist out for Roman to bump which he did with a grin.
"You must be excited to be home" Roman spoke to me as we left the airport after getting our bags. He was wearing just a tee shirt and jeans before he put his coat on quick. "Fucking chilly here."
A laugh escaped my lips as I looked at him with a smile. I noticed that Dean was also getting his leather jacket on making me shake my head at them in disbelief. "It's not that cold here, I mean you just kinda get used to it."
Roman and Dean exchanged a look before Seth came over. "Which hotel we staying in?" He was fully coated up wearing a grey puffer jacket and what looked like snow boots.
I looked up as Dean spoke "Roman booked us in at the same place as the others. Did you hire the car?"
Seth nodded "Of course I did. I'll go and get it and then we can get going to the hotel? You staying with us, Tash?"
"Yeah I booked her in Dean's room," Roman answered for me as he smiled in my direction. "Don't worry we won't disturb you."
Seth laughed before he headed away to get the hire car leaving me with Dean and Roman. "Actually" I looked at Dean nervously "I have to go home and see my parents, I have a lot to tell them."
"Do you need me to come with you?"
Shaking my head I smiled "I think it would be better if I went alone."
Dean shrugged his shoulders. "If you are sure, text me and I'll come to get you when you're ready."
Creeping a smile across my lips I looked at him, "Thanks." Tiptoeing up I kissed him on the lips before I turned away from him and jumped in a cab, this way I could just go.Knocking on the door of my old home I was nervous. I hated returning to England and seeing my family. I wondered what my parents would say. I wondered how my brother would react. Mostly I was scared that actually I was making a huge mistake, making such a crazy mistake that my family would laugh me out of the room.
When the door opened my brother was there holding the baby which looked a lot bigger than last time I saw it.
"Tasha? What are you doing here?" He asked as he leaned forward and kissed me on the cheek.Reaching forward I took the baby from his arms bringing it close to me as I smiled, "Well I'm just visiting, you know?" I laughed as I stepped into the house and looked down at the child. "Hello there, sweetie."
A smile crossed the face of the beautiful baby before I looked up at my brother, "You don't just visit, what's going on?" He asked me as we walked through to the living room where it was empty.
"Okay, so I need to let you all know what's going on in my life at the moment. I wanted to tell the family together," I told him as I sat on the sofa and held the baby tightly. My heart was bursting with love as I held it close to me.
"Well, you better tell me first," Wade said as he sat on the chair and looked over at me.
The living room hadn't changed much since I had been gone, nothing had changed much. I looked at my brother and smiled, "I'm going to marry Dean."
His face fell as he shook his head, "You can't."
I sighed, "I didn't come here for you to say no, I wasn't asking. I am telling you that this is happening. I love him, he loves me, we are getting married and that's all there is to it."
Wade groaned as he rubbed his temples, "There's so much you don't know about him. I think you are making a big mistake."
"Everything is out in the open," I told him as I placed the baby on the mat on the floor under the hanging toys. "We've had conversations. Don't forget," I said as I sat with my legs outstretched and looked at Wade, "I am not perfect, am I?"
Wade came and sat the other side of the baby mat and looked at me with a sad look, "I won't stop you from marrying him." He looked down at the baby before he looked back at me, "Please don't make the same mistake that you did last time. I don't want you to have another James situation."
"James was different."
"James and Dean are two of the same."
"You are talking shit," I groaned as I rolled my eyes. "Besides Dean has never laid his hands on me."
Wade looked at me with disbelief in his eyes, "Don't kid yourself, Tasha. I've seen him, don't forget all the times he's hurt you in the ring. All the hurt you felt inside every time he says something horrible or when you see him with another woman. I know exactly how it works in your brain. Everything you feel is amplified by a thousand and then you do something stupid. You turn away from everything, people, friends, food and then you turn to alcohol and end up in rehab again. I don't want you going through that. But you love him, you want to marry him."
I nodded, "I do want to marry him and that's the end of it. If you can't be happy for me then don't come to my wedding. I want you there more than anything. I love you and you're one of my best friends. You have the opinion I care about the most. Please don't shut me out because you don't like him."
"I love you, Natasha." He smiled at me, "If you want to marry him I won't stop you. I won't let my feelings get in the way of how you feel. I want you to be happy."
