Being at the police station was a long and lengthy process. Dean accompanied me to the station holding my hand in the car as AJ drove us, no one spoke in the vehicle, I just thanked them both as I exited the car. Dean assured me it was going to be okay before I was taken to have photos taken of myself. After photos, I was taken for a medical examination by the police doctor. Before I had my interviews I sat in an interview room with Dean where I could have a few minutes and have a glass of water.
My hands were on the table, both holding the glass I had been given. Dean sat next to me, he was watching me, I could feel his eyes on me as I stared at the glass of water.
"You know I'm not going anywhere, right?" He asked as his hand reached for mine taking it from the glass, I allowed him to thread his fingers through mine before I held his hand back. "I'll be here waiting when this is finished."
I looked at him, "Please don't make promises you can't keep."
His hand squeezed mine before he spoke again, "I promise." He leaned over and kissed me on the hair on the side of my head before the door opened and the female officer entered the room.
"Are you ready Miss Bennett?" She asked me a sad sympathetic voice.
My eyes looked away from her back to Dean, he gave my hand one last squeeze before I let him go and left the room with the woman. I looked back at him one last time, I managed a smile and he returned with one too. After everything I couldn't believe he was here right now with me, he was here and supporting me, here and holding my hand.

Interviews lasted a long time, mainly because I couldn't remember anything. Even thinking that maybe something had happened to me was bad enough, but the evidence was obvious, my body covered in bruises. The pain hadn't yet hit me, not that I wanted it too. My body was still adjusting to being awake, maybe Dean being here was all an illusion and my mind playing tricks on me. I hoped not.
"Miss Bennett," the female detective, Jackie, tried to get my attention. "Miss Bennett, we really do need you to try and think about what happened to you."
I looked at her, my vision blurring as I looked harder at her, was I concentrating too hard on her? "I need to sit down," I said as I put my hands on the desk.
"You are sitting down," she said as she looked at me confused. She turned to her partner and spoke: "I think we need to call this off, for now, she's not fit for interview."
She did her thing on the tape before she stopped it and walked around helped me to my feet before we left the room. She took me back to the doctor before she spoke privately to her and then left me in her care.
"What's going on?" I asked her as I sat in the chair near her and watched as she jotted down a few notes. "What's happening?"
Dr Maverick looked up from her notes and gave me a smile, "I just need to run a few more tests. I just need to take some more blood from you."
My eyes widened as the needle she got out came towards me before she smiled at me and then inserted it into my arm before drawing out some blood. "Is my friend still here?" I asked her as I held the cotton wool over the small puncture she had just created before I looked up at her.
"He's still waiting, in fact, there are a few people out there waiting for you." She had a smile on her face as she told me. "And your family has been trying to get hold of you on the phone, you are pretty popular today."
