37. Best Date Ever

Maya and Lucas wake up in each other's arms , their room lit by a white glare.

It was Valentines Day, and Lucas had plans for him and Maya, and he was nervous. 

He looked down at Maya, her ups partly open and he smiles, admiring her natural beauty.

Lucas slowly gets out of bed and walks toward the closet, reaching up to grab a little box.

A little box that can change tel young adults lives. He took a deep breath and smiled.

Hoping that this would turn out to be the best valentines day ever.

Him and Maya were getting ready for their date. They were also bringing Kane, and were going to put him in a tuxedo.

Lucas already asked Shawn, Katy and even Riley for blessings , which they all gave .

While Maya was adding extra curls to her hair, Lucas put Kane in his outfit.  When Lucas was done, Maya was doing so finishing touches , smiling in the mirror. She was super excited because of what Lucas has been saying, it was going to be a fun night. 

Lucas came up being Maya, wrapped his arms around her waist and put his chin on her shoulder and smiled. 

'"you look beautiful." Lucas said gently, and kissed her cheek. 

"Thank you. You dont look to bad yourself. "  Maya giggled, turning her head to face Lucas and places a gentle kiss on his lips. They heard their baby making little sounds, causing both their hearts to flutter. 

Maya walked over to her almost 3 month old and grinned. 

"You look handsome too, lil guy." 

Lucas smiled in awe, hoping that soon she will become his fiance' then wife. "

Lucas made reservations for Maya's favorite restaurant which was 'Daniel'. It was a very fancy french restaurant in New York and Maya enjoyed being there whenever she had the chance. When they got there, Maya was already pumped and excited. 

"You brought us to Daniel? I love this place!" Maya squealed out of excited and joy. 

Lucas nodded his head with a chuckle. He wrapped one arm around Maya's waist and the other to lock up the car.

When they got in, it was almost filled up with couples staring at one another with pure love and passion. The server took them to their seats and Lucas told Maya he will be right back .

"Is everything all set up?" Lucas asked Griff, one of the waiters. 

"Yup, all of us have everything prepared. Good luck man." Gruff pats Lucas on his shoulder and walks to the workers who are helping with the proposal. 

Lucas walks back with champagne and his beautiful small family waiting for him. 

"everything okay?" Maya asks her boyfriend. 

"Everything is perfect." Lucas smiles nervously as the waiter comes to get their orders in.

"Wow, i am stuffed." Maya groaned out, putting her napkin on the table and leaning back. 

Lucas chuckles , agreeing with Maya. Then he see's the waiters with their different color sparklers. He takes a deep breath, getting ready for whats about to happen. All of them start walking towards the table and setting them all over. 

Lucas grabs Kane and puts him on his booth, giving him the box. 

"What's all this for?" Maya asks surprised. Everyone in the restaurant was beginning to watch what was going to happen. Lucas pulls Maya up and holds her hand, taking a deep breath. 

"Maya,  when we first met on the subway, I thought you were stunning. You had that cute smile and a sparkle in your eyes. Then we had our whole Texas moment and I knew that you wee the one I wanted to date but I was scared. I didn't want to hurt you . Then Josh came back and I was scared that you were gonna leave and I would lose my chance to get you. But, we had that drunk night and that moment changed our lives forever. " 

Maya's eyes were starting to gloss over, not sure what was going on but at the same time, knew everything that was going to happen. 

" We had a kid. We had scary moments during the pregnancy. But we also connected more and now I know what I want. I want to be with you forever. Maya you make so happy and I know we did this all out of order but we are doing it together. Every time I see Kane it makes me feel so blessed. And every time I see you when I wake up and fall asleep, I ask how did I get so lucky?  So, Maya Penelope Hunter, will you marry me?" 

Lucas grabs Kane who holds the box with the ring. Maya cries out "Yes!" 

The waiter hold Kane and Maya runs into Lucas's arms, placing a long and passionate kiss on his lips. The sparklers go off and gold confetti. Everyone claps and cheers for the new engaged couple. 

"I love you so much" Maya cries into Lucas's  shoulder. 

"I love you more." Lucas responds to Maya. 

He puts the ring on Maya's finger,  officially making this the best Valentine's day ever.
