*Natalie's POV

"You had a what we call, a spontaneous pregnancy loss."

"The fetus was lost way before the 20th week of your pregnancy."

"We're not quite sure what went wrong."

"But Natalie, sometimes it's just inevitable."

The doctor sounded so far away, but she was right next to me. Everything that she was saying was just going right over my head.

Except for one thing.

I was pregnant.

"So?" I gave Toni a questioning look as I ate a fork full of spaghetti. She arrived at my trailer under 5 minutes and when she did come, she brought a tupperware full of spaghetti. It was weird and random but she explained that she called to ask if I wanted dinner at her place.

"So, what?"

"How'd you know?" I raised my eyebrow at her.

"You can call it best friend's intuition?" I glared at her. "Fine," she breathed out. "Before I was gonna call you, Sweet Pea called." She played with her spaghetti. "He said that he messed up, big time," she set her fork down and looked at me. "I mean he thought he was helping you." I abruptly got up from the table and went to the living room. "Nat," Toni sighed following me. "Natalie, what the hell happened here?"

I had forgot to clean up before she walked in. At least she didn't see it from the start.

"Nothing," I sighed and sprawled myself on the couch.

"I mean Sweet Pea told me it was bad, but I didn't think it would be this bad." I heard her feet crunch under the glass as she stepped on it.

"It wasn't," I sighed and put my arm over my eyes.

It was quiet for a moment.

"Natalie?" Toni spoke up.

"Yeah?" I still had my arm over my eyes.

"What is this?" I pulled my arm away from my eyes and looked at her.

She had the stuffed bear in her hands.

"Thank you for agreeing to sit down and discuss this misunderstanding." Hiram spoke up as I placed a bottle of soda in front of him and sat down next to FP.

"There's n-"

"There's no misunderstanding here," I cut Jughead off.

"Tall Boy said you paid him to decapitate the statue."

"As an excuse to turn up the heat on the serpents." Jughead cut his dad off angrily.

"You got a lot of nervous people scared they're gonna lose their home." FP argued.

"I heard about that." Hiram interjected. "And though it has nothing whatsoever to do with me, I've spoken to Mayor McCoy." I scowled at him. "And as a gesture of goodwill to the Southside community, I'd like to settle any back rent you or your neighbor owe the town." I glanced up at FP and Jughead.
