Ayona
It'd been just a few days after I'd done a pop up on Shania at her apartment, just a regular day and yet my heart pumped nervously as I rushed to my apartment.
Barely an hour ago, I'd received a call from Daystar telling me to come home. He'd been cryptic, not giving me any details.
I'd even gone so far as to think that he'd found out about my visit to Shania's spot. Maybe she'd made another demand and I was actually going to have to follow through on my promised threats.
"..And next time, won't nothing stop me from giving you a lil reminder to remember me from."
When I'd eventually showed up, Daystar had ordered carry out for us and shared some news.
To my utter surprise he'd had some other news waiting for me that evening.
"Gregg did some digging and.., looked like it was just a crazy ass fan that came after you..."
Of course, months after that matter had been dealt with and here we were, life was looking up.
I was going to therapy, Porsha was super supportive and our friendship was tighter than ever.
Though, I did end up telling her about my whereabouts of that night-with Shania. Daystar was clueless as hell, though I suspected that he was waiting for the other shoe to drop any minute and sometimes so did I, but I was taking things day by day.
Our daughter was loved, happy, and most of all, healthy-what more could I ask for?
I had a girlfriend I could count on, a man who, despite our troubles stuck with me, and he had his bestfriend. Things couldn't possibly get any better.

"Gurl hurry the fuck up," Porsha sighed impatiently as I clumsily stumbled out of her car.
"I'm coming." I blew air in between my lips, making them vibrate as I focused on putting my heels on. They'd been uncomfortably higher than I was used to, but Porsha had insisted, saying they made my legs look longer and my ass fatter.
Whatever that meant.
She'd invited me out to eat for the night, I hadn't a clue why she'd chosen this night out of all the nights, but like a dumbass I came out despite how exhausted I was from work.
"We couldn't do this shit some other night-I'm tired, Porsha."
She scoffed, "Quit all that whining. You need to be getting out, all you do is work and take care of Mika and Daystar. Shit, I need attention too."
I shook my head, chuckling. "First of all, I gave birth to her, I'm supposed too...You tripping."
Arm in arm, we walked up to the restaurant. Classy enough that it had a red carpet rolled out, leading into the entrance with lights shimmering brightly in its floor to ceiling windows.
Suspiciously, my eyebrow perked. "Porsha, you too cheap to be bringing me here..."
Offensively, she smacked her teeth. "Na-uh."
A man briskly dressed in professional attire, welcomed us in, holding the door open for us, "Evening ladies."
In return, "Good evening... Thank you."
This time Porsha had been the one to let us in through the second door and so I thanked her too.
"Good evening ladies, will it just be the two of you joining us?" The hostess asked, a bright and welcoming smile, brimmed with red lipstick graced us.
Nodding, "Yes, reservation for Bennings, please."
The hostess's face lit up, "Oh, of course. Right this way."
As we continued on, I couldn't help but find it odd that there weren't any customers in the restaurant, but nonetheless we traveled to an unknown destination.
She'd lead us to the restaurants rooftop patio, nearly taking my breath away. Even more so, when I'd realized that almost everyone I knew was also on the rooftop, all gathered at one long table.
I knew she'd been up to no good, with a smile on my face, I glared at Porsha.
"Enjoy your evening."
"Thank you," I responded to our hostess as she proceeded back down the steps.
Daystar had been the first to greet us, Tamika in his hands clapping with excitement. "Hi, mommy!!!"
My heart almost wanted to burst with joy, "Hey you." I reached for her.
With Mika perched on my hip, Daystar leaned in for a kiss. "Hey sexy," he'd whispered in my ear."
"Hey," I glanced towards our guests, waving as I mumbled to him worriedly. "I miss something? What's the occasion?"
He shook his, "Just thought it'd do us some good with family around, it's all." He'd convinced, guiding us towards our seats.
