When my mom walks in the venue I walk up to her and hug her. When we pull apart she smiles and asks if Rosie would like to spend the night.
"Of course mom! She hasn't stayed over in a while" I smile
"Ok" She smiles before walking away "Don't drink too much"
I laugh at her motherly instinct. She's been a real help with Rosie ever since she was born. Every two months or so she offers to keep Rosie overnight or for the weekend so I can go have fun with the girls. Of course most of the time I refuse because Rosie is my responsibility but sometimes I could really use the freedom. She has never stayed over mum's or Ryland's more than two days though because if she was there any longer I would go insane.
I walk over to Rosie and bend down to her level. She hugs me and waves when she sees me.
"Mommy" She squeals
"Hey princess!" I smile "So guess what!"
"What?" She giggles
"You're going to go have a sleepover with your uncles at grandma's tonight!" I smile
"Ganma's" She asks
"Yeah! Don't you want to go spend time with grandma and your uncles tonight?"
"Yess" She squeals
"Ok!" I smile
She runs off back to the group of little kids. I stand up and turn around to walk back to my table but I bump into a hard chest.
"You didn't have to do that you know" Travis says referring to me allowing Jade to sit with us
"I was being nice" I shrug "She's a nice person"
"Yea she is" Travis agrees
"Great I'm glad you're happy" I say trying to walk pass
"So you have a daughter" He states
"Yeah" I say crossing my arms
"I'm guessing Shawn's the father?" He says questioningly
"And why would you think that?" I ask
"Because I saw you guys talking. You seem happy together" He shrugs
"Me and him are just good friends. He's not Rosie's father" I say
"Oh" He says
I give him a tight smile and walk to my table and down the rest of my second glass of champagne. I have no interest in getting drunk tonight but a few drinks won't hurt. I watch the crowd of people dancing and laughing on the dance floor. Sabrina is dancing with Brandon who is one of the groomsmen. Riker was dances with Rowan. Rydel is dancing with Ellington. Rosie is dancing with Cindy even though it looks more like jumping around. I laugh at the sight. I see Jade drag Travis to the dance floor.
They look very happy. The way she talked about him earlier made me realize how much I miss him. I honestly regret letting him leave. If I hadn't screwed things up that could be me in his arms. And the sad part is I can't even hate her. She's way too nice for anyone to hate her. I watch them for a few minutes before Shawn comes over.
"You are basically the only person not dancing right now" He chuckles
"I know" I laugh "I'm too busy pining over my ex who just so happens to be my baby's father and he doesn't even know she exists"
He gives me a sad smile and holds out his hand "Would you dance with me?"
I laugh and lay my hand in his. We walk to the dance floor as Chasing Pavements by Adele comes on.
I hook my arms around his neck as we sway back and forth to the beat. I glance behind him and at Travis as he and Jade dances.
"He thought you were Rosie's father you know" I chuckle
"What did you say?" Aaron asks
"I told him that you weren't" I reply
He chuckles and I watch as Jade smiles at Travis. I feel a ball of regret in the pit of my stomach as I watch them dance together. She lays her head on his shoulder and closes her eyes. She must be very comfortable in his arms.
"You're staring" Shawn states
"I miss him" I sigh
Travis and Jade turn ever so slightly every second or two and then Travis faces me. He has one hand on Jade's waist and is holding her hand with his free one against his chest. Their cheeks are touching and they look content.
Travis looks straight and our eyes lock. He breaks the gaze as Jade pulls her head up from his shoulder. They slowly turn again and Jade is facing me again. I look down as she looks straight with a slight frown on her face. She quickly wipes it off and replaces it with a smile as Travis whispers something in her ear. She pulls back to look him in the eyes and he kisses her gently.
They're happy. Maybe I shouldn't tell him about Rosie.Rosie and I have been just fine without him. But I know deep down that when she grows up she's going to resent him for not being there and it'll be all my fault. I have to tell him.
I go back to watching Travis dance with Jade. She laughs as he gently spins her under his arm. She watches their intertwined hand as Travis traces her engagement ring. They laugh about something as they turn again.
I look down so Travis doesn't catch me watching but then I notice him watching Shawn and I. I gain courage and look up and into his eyes. He smiles as Jade says something to him but he doesn't look at her which makes me wonder if he's smiling at what she said or if he's smiling at me. Jade pulls back so she can look him in the eyes and she lightly kisses him.
I look around me and I see all the happy couples. I never felt so lonely until now. I was always content knowing I had Rosie. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me but there's always been a piece missing. And that piece is standing in front of me. But he's happy with someone else. He's getting married for god's sake!
I pull back from Shawn and thank him for the dance. I ask my mom to keep an eye on Rosie while I get some fresh air outside. She nods and I walk outside. I sit on the bench in front of the garden. I look down and let my tears fall. Why is it so hard for me to just let him go?
I cried for weeks after he left for LA, maybe it was the pregnancy hormones but that didn't change the fact that I loved him and that I still do. I regretted letting him go the minute he got into his car. That day, after he left I locked myself in my room and cried myself to sleep.
I wanted to tell him about the pregnancy so badly but I knew he was mad at me and would've probably blown me off. I broke his heart and honestly I broke my own heart in the making. After Rosie was born I understood what people said. How as soon as you look into your baby's eyes, you would do anything to protect them. That's why I debated on telling Travis. I thought that if he was happy, then he wouldn't want to be a part of her life.
Once my tears are gone. I walk back into the venue and go to the bathroom. I touch up my makeup and go back into the party. I go to the waiter and grab another glass of champagne. I down the whole glass and grab another before going back to my seat.
"I thought you said you weren't going to drink?" Rydel says
"A few drinks won't hurt. Besides mom's keeping Rosie tonight" I shrug
"You've had four glasses" She states
"I'm not drunk!" I defend "I may feel a buzz but I'm not drunk"
"Honey it's getting late I'm going to take Rosie now" my mom says coming over to me holding Rosie's hand
"Ok" I smile and bend down to her level "Be good for grandma ok?" Rosie nods and I hug her. I kiss her cheek and tell her I love her before they leave. Maddie walks over with a glass of champagne in her hands and I take it from her and down it in two gulps.
Three drinks later and I'm definitely feeling the alcohol. I decide to go home so I walk over to Ryland and Maddie and let them know that I'm leaving.
"Rhonwen no you've been drinking" Ryland says
"I can drive!" I slur taking my keys out
"No! Let me find someone to drive you home" Riker says swiping my keys from my hand.
He calls Travis over and asks him to take me home. Travis nods and Rocky tells him where I live and then gives him my car keys. Travis then turns to Jade and hands her his car keys and asks her to follow him so after they drop me off they can go back to their hotel. She nods and then we all leave.
Travis unlocks my car and makes sure I'm buckled before locking my door and then goes to the driver's seat. He starts driving with Jade following behind us.
"You know" Travis starts "This is the first time I've seen you this drunk"
"You're funny" I slur "You've seen me drink plenty of times"
"I've seen you drink. But I haven't seen you get this drunk" He states "You only get drunk when you're upset"
"I'm a mom" I slur "I want to have fun" I lie
He nods and tightens his hands on the wheel. He knows when I lie.
"Do you love Jade?" I ask
"Of course I do" He says focusing on the road
"But do you love her as much as you loved me?" I ask

💔Travis' POV💔
"Do you love Jade?" She asks
"Of course I do" I say
"But do you love her as much as you loved me?" She asks
I stay quiet and focus on the road until I come up with a response.
"Still do" I murmur when I see her eyes close
When I reach her apartment complex I realise it's where our old apartment was. I park her car in the garage and shake her awake. We get out of her car and I make sure to lock the doors behind us. We go inside and we get in the elevator. I press the 3 button. When the elevator opens we walk to her apartment and again it's our old apartment, she takes her keys from my hand. She uses the light blue one to unlock her door. We walk in and I notice that our old apartment is very nice and clean for being a home of a mom of a seven year old.
"Uh where's your room?" I ask
She puts her keys on the living room table and walks past the master bedroom and two rooms that say Ryder and Rosie on the doors to her room. As soon as we step in, she steps out of her heels. She reaches behind her to unzip her dress while I neatly put her heels next to her others. When I turn around she's struggling with her zipper so I decide to help her out and unzip it for her. As I slowly unzip it she looks behind her at me.
"Thank you" She smiles
I smile back at her and help her change into an oversized T-shirt. She climbs into bed and I tuck her in. I bid her goodbye and leave, making sure to lock her door on the way out.
I go outside and switch seats with Jade. The whole way back to our hotel she stays quiet. After we park at our hotel, we walk in and go to our room holding hands. When we get in our room she goes to the bathroom and starts taking off her makeup and washes her face for bed while I undress and put some pajama pants on. I pull out my phone and text Rhonwen. I tell her to take some advil and drink lots of water so in the morning she'll see it.
Jade comes out of the bathroom with a tank top, and pajama shorts. She leans against the doorframe and looks down.
"What's wrong?" I ask her
"Is there anything going on between you and Rhonwen?" She asks
"What? no" I laugh
"Was there ever anything between the two of you?" She asks
I sigh knowing I'm not getting out of this conversation so I decide to tell the truth.
"It was a long time ago" I confess
"How long?" She asks
" it was about 15 years ago,A year before we were on a school trip to Paris where she bumped into her siblings on tour so she stayed with them instead of coming back to here with everyone else, I was on the plane and the plane crashed I was the only survivor but I had lost my memory then I bumped into her one day in a park she helped me and we slept together even though she had a boyfriend at the time" I say
"Is that all?" She asks
"You may want to sit down" I chuckle
She nods and sits in front of me. I look down not sure if I should tell her the whole story but then again what do I have to lose?
"after a couple of years I asked her to marry me so we got married and she was expecting my child But there were some complications and said she couldn't bear to see me because of it. So I left to Hollywood and met you a couple years later"
"So you got married and got her pregnant then you left?" Olivia asks and I nod "So your kid should've been like 8 years old now? I've only seen her with Rosie the 7 year old"
"Yeah" I nod "She had a miscarriage with our baby, Ryder. Let me finish the story. After she told me about her pregnancy I started to grow closer to her and closer to our baby. Naturally I began developing deeper feelings for her then I did when we were engagedi don't know really how to explain them.So we were together for a while and then when she was about 26 weeks she had ran into her ex which was the boyfriend she had at the time we first slept together, and he kissed her but, she didn't pull back until she realized what she was doing was wrong. She made a mistake. But instead of her keeping it to herself she told me and we got into a fight and I left her in our room but she chased after me and tripped down the stairs. The fall was so hard the hospital had to perform an emergency still birth. When she woke up we held him and took pictures of him and then they took him away. They took Rhonwen away. She was never the same after that. She stayed in her room and cried for weeks straight, she refused to eat, and she couldn't even go in his nursery. Then she just became numb and then she broke up with me because she knew that if she didn't have the miscarriage then I most likely would've divorced her after I found out about her and the ex kissing. I begged for her back and she told me no. She told me that I had to go to Hollywood if I got accepted for the movie role because that was my dream and before she had the miscarriage I was only going to stay because she was my wife and because of the baby but she said since there was nothing keeping me here that I'm free exept she didn't realise I she was keeping me back. So I left, I resented her for a long time and I got over it. Then I met you"
By the time I finish telling her the whole story she's in tears. She hugs me and then kisses me.
"Thank you for telling me" She smiles "Let's go to bed"
We lie down in bed cuddled up. She smiles at me before closing her eye and going to sleep. I know I have Jade in my arms right now but I just can't help think about Rhonwen. What had her so upset that she got so drunk?
I guess this will be a question of mine for a long time while I am chasing her pavements of life.
