Symphony

~1 Year Later~
"Maddie" I call when I walk into the house
"Up here!" She yells back from upstairs
I head for the stairs and see her holding her baby boy Rhydian in the rocking chair while feeding him. Maddie is an amazing mom to him. After she gave birth she told everyone what the name was.  Rhydian Ryder Lynch. I cried for hours of happiness. I just couldn't believe they picked Ryder to be his middle name.
"Hey" I say
"Hey. I thought Travis was coming with you?" She says
"No he said he had to go finish a reading for his new acting role" I shrug
Ever since last summer Travis moved back home so he could be closer to Rosie and I. He was really excited when his manger let him come back home. He works as a  acting coach at the school, and I truly believe he loves it there just as much as I do. Rosie just turned eight a few months back. Her and Travis are practically inseparable. They gang up on me for pranks and I honestly love how close they've became. But we also get him back It's like he never left.

"Oh well I was just about to finish feeding Rhydian and then put him down for a nap" Maddie says burping the little baby
"Ok...Um I kind of need your help with something after" I say nervously
"Ok" She smiles
After about ten minutes Rhydian falls asleep and Maddie turns to me and tries to talk but I shush her and nod my head towards the hall. We walk over to her and Ryland's room and she sits on her bed.
"Spit it out" She laughs
I stay silent and go in my purse and pull out the brown bag. She studies the bag and she studies it for a few moments before gasping.
"Are you-?" She asks
"I don't know. I was hoping you'd be there while I found out" I say
"Ok well I'm going to get you a big glass of water I'll be right back" She laughs before leaving the room
I open the bag and pull out the two pregnancy tests. I sit down on her bed and sigh. It's been so long since I've had to take one of these. Usually,Travis and I are extremely careful; but lately we haven't. We both agreed that if it happens it happens and we'll deal with it as it comes. We've really grown since we were sixteen and seventeen. There's so much love and trust in our relationship now, mostly because there's no teen drama surrounding us anymore. He's moved in with me, and we both feel content with our lives so far.
Maddie comes back in holding a tall glass of water and hands it to me. We sit quietly while I gulp down the water, so the water will have a faster effect. Within 5 minutes I take the tests into the bathroom and pee on the two sticks. As we wait for the results I pace back and forth.
"Rhonwen chill you've done this before" Maddie chuckles
"Not in seven or eight years Mads!" I say
"Why are you so worried? Travis is a great father" She says
"The last time I was pregnant he wasn't there and if I am this time. He will be. I don't know how to take that in. Last time I accepted the fact that I was going to be a single mother, but now I'm scared shitless. We're in a good place right now; Travis and I. This is going to change everything. Rydel might be a big sister and I'm worried about how she will take the news if I am. She's so used to all the attention being on her and if this is really happening I'm afraid she's going to think we're going to love her less which will never happen" I ramble
"Rhonwen!" Maddie calls to get my attention "Everything will be fine and I'm sure Rosie will be happy to be a big sister"
I sigh and the timer goes off. Ashley holds my hand and gives me a reassuring smile before pulling me into the bathroom. I take a few deep breaths before picking up the two tests which both have a pink plus sign on it. The color drains from my face and I start freaking out. Rhonwen smiles like the chesire cat.
"I'm having another baby" I whisper to myself
"You're having another baby" Maddie smiles
"I'm having another baby" I say louder.
A small smile breaks onto my face and Maddie squeals. I take a few moments to let everything sink in. My phone starts ringing and I go over to it. Travis' name flashes on the screen and I immediately answer it.
"Hey" I say calmly
"Hey so I made reservations tonight" He says
"Where?" I ask
"Don't worry. Just dress nicely" He says before hanging up
I turn around and Maddie isn't in the room anymore. I go into the nursery and see she's holding Rhydian in her arms.
"I have a date to get to so I should go" I tell her
"I'll come I can help you get ready" She smiles
"Thanks" I smile back
She puts some pants on Rhydian before putting him in his car seat. We walk out and get into my car. We drive over to my apartment and park into my usual parking spot. When we get in, she changes Rhydian's diaper and he falls right back to sleep. She raids my closet and picks out my outfit. It's a cream colored dress with a halter top bodice. The whole dress had lace and the skirt kind of flares out. She puts some white heels asie it and a necklace Travis had gotten me for christmas.
She pushes me toward the bathroom to take a shower. Once I get out I wrap a towel around me and she pushes me down in my desk chair. She starts working on my makeup. She does a warm toned bronzed eye look with some lip gloss. My cheeks are softly contoured and she finishes the look with some light highlighter. She plugs in the blowdryer and gets to work on my hair. She curls my hair in beachy waves and then she orders me to get dressed while she feeds Rhydian.
As I look at myself in the mirror I turn to the side and rub my non existent baby bump. I grab my nude clutch and walk out to the living room. for the first time I notice a notecard on the picture of Travis, Rosie, and I.
I take it off and open the envelope. I take out the card and read it.
I thought I could make tonight unforgettable. Follow the clues and find me Love you xoxo. Got to the place where all our drama took place. Our drama? Most of our fights were at my mom's house... I guess we try there.
I show Maddie the clue and we go to my mom's house. As soon as I knock she opens the door and hands me another note card.
For a while I visited this place everyday until you told me you had given up on us...
That's way too easy. Ryder's nursery.we get back in the car and go back to the house. Maddie and I walk up to the nursery and I take the notecard from the crib.
We once thought this place was hell, but now we're both happy to be back
The school...I drag Maddie to the car and head to the school. We can't get into the building this late, so we look around the entrance.
"Found it!" Maddie yells taking the notecard from underneath a bench leg
Hope it's not much of a struggle so far, the next place is where we'd talk for hours outside of the car
"I don't get it" I sigh "We talked a lot of places"
"Is there any place that sticks out to you?" She questions
"The park does. We would sit at the rocks at night and talk about random stuff for hours on end" I say
"Let's try there" She says
We drive to the park and sure enough there's a note card pinned to a tree with my name on it.
There's a shop down the street. You're next clue is there. Ask for the most romantic and beautiful ones.
"Roses. He's talking about the flower shop" I say
When we get to the shop the lady hands me a bouquet of roses with a notecard in the middle. I take it out carefully and remove the clue from the envelope.
Our dinner is where your favorite place to watch the sunset. It's quite a view from here.
I smile and know exactly where he's talking about. There's only one restaurant that has the best view of the city. We drive the ten minutes and I park. I go inside and the hostess gives me a card.
Now that you're here you just need to look where you told me once where you'd love to stay at forever.
I smile and walk around the garden. As I walk near the pavilion a crowd separates and I see Travis dressed nicely in the center. When he notices me he smiles brightly and holds his hand out for me which I happily take. I note the heart shaped rose petals surrounding us.
"So here's how this is going to go. I'm going to talk for a little and you're going to listen. I'm going to ask you something and you're going to answer ok?" He smiles
I nod and he continues
"I love you Rhonwen and I know I have asked you this once before but I am gonna ask you again. I don't think I could ever stop loving you. I know every girl deserves their prince charming. I also know that I'm no prince charming. But, you see me as one; Always have. You make me feel loved and wanted and I would like for nothing more than to feel this way the rest of my life with you. I lost you once and I don't plan on losing you ever again. I'll put up with all our fights no matter how bad they get. I will always apologize even if I know I'm right. Baby, I don't want to live life without you" He says before bending down one one knee
My hands go to my mouth an I choke on happy tears.
"Rhonwen, Baby, will you make me the luckiest guy in the  world and be my wife again?" He asks
I nod and he slips the diamond ring on my finger. He stands up and picks me up. He twirls me around and kisses me. I pull away and look into hs eyes.
"There's one problem though" I say
The crowd grows quiet waiting to hear what I say
"I'm not your baby" I say his face falls and the crowd gasps.
I take his hand and place it on my stomach "This is your baby"
The crowd erupts into cheers and Travis smiles brightly.
"Are you-?" He asks
"I am" I smile
He kisses me and hugs me close to him. Looks like I'm finally getting my happy ever after. This is my Symphony.
