Lapis Lazuli POV

I felt the cold air of the fall night on my face as I ran, hearing the cop sirens closely behind me. I was scared, and I did not want to spend the rest of my days in prison. Sure, I haven't committed a murder or anything, but I had just been caught dealing drugs.

This was a one time thing, I needed the money, and Jasper needed someone to deliver the drugs. I took the offer, even though I shouldn't have.

As I turned the corner to hide behind a dumpster, I realized this was all probably a big set up. Jasper was my ex, who hated me. She would die to see me go to jail.

"I FOUND HER!" I heard a male voice yell, and I knew I was busted. A few other cops ran over to my hiding spot and pulled me out.

"You're under arrest, you have the right to remain silent anything you say may be used against you in the court of law. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you before any questioning if you wish." Before I knew it, the cop reading off my rights had me in handcuffs and was walking me to her car.

I tried to hold back my tears, but they fell anyway. What was my family going to think? They'd never speak to me again.

I had just ruined my life, and nothing would fix it. Nobody would believe that Jasper set me up, or promised me the $150 for delivering them.

I knew I should've blocked her number, moved cities, gotten a restraining order on Jasper when we broke up. I just never brought myself to it, knowing I would eventually crawl back to her arms, despite how she treated me.

"Ma'am.. Ma'am what is your name?" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up at the cop, who was starring at me with a notepad.

"L-Lapis Lazuli.." I stuttered out as the lady copied down stuff on her tiny notepad.

"Can you give me any information or reason on why you were selling drugs?" She clicked her pen a couple of times, still starring at me.

"Uh, my ex told me to.. and honestly I- I needed the money." I hung my head in shame. "How much were they offering you?" She continued scribbling in her notepad. "..150 bucks.." I sighed.

The cop finished up on her notes and closed my door before getting into the drivers seat. The car started and the bright lights of the city faded, which meant I was headed to the state prison. Even worse.

I wasn't ready for jail, how would I get my anxiety medicine.. I'd be a newbie so everyone would target me until the next criminal came in. Was what I had done really state prison worthy? I would've thought I'd just go downtown for a couple of days then boom, I'm out.

We arrived to the prison after a hour or so drive, which was making me even more anxious then I should've been.

They fingerprinted me, gave me those awful orange jumpsuits, and allowed me a phone call to whoever. I decided to use my phone call later down the road, until I was ready to call my parents.

I got taken to a cell, which was in the back corner. It was dark and quiet in my cell, which honestly I liked a lot.

"You may or may not have a cell-mate. Depends on how full we get. Your court day will be given to you tomorrow most likely." The cop said as she locked me in. I just nodded at her and sat on the rock-hard cot.

I prayed that I would get out, and Jasper would get locked up. But things really never go my way, they never have.

Hohoho I hope you guys like this chapter! I actually love how this came out and I've never really seen an idea like this so I decided to write it! Hope you enjoy!!!
