Peridots POV

Steven and I sat in silence as he drove us back into Beach City. He pulled in front of a small baby blue condo and turned off his car.

"This is it, I'll wait here." He gave a toothy smile and leaned back in his seat. "Good luck Peridot!"

"Wow, Thanks." I mumbled and got out of the car and slowly started walking up to the door. I stood on the final step and sighed. "Alright, you can do this." I stepped forward and knocked on the dark blue door.

After a few minutes, the door finally swung open. Instead of the bluenette standing in the doorway, there was another girl. She had white hair kind of like Jasper, but it definitely wasn't her.

"Hey Mal, who's at the door?" I heard Lapis call from inside the house. My eyes widened a bit, and the girl 'Mal' stared at me.

"I dunno, some random girl with hair that looks like a triangle kinda.." Malachite called back.

"W-WHAT?!" Lapis rushed to the door from another room, and nearly fell over when she saw me.

"H-hey.." I rubbed the back of my neck.

"O- oh my gosh! You're finally out of that hellhole!" She rushes over and gave me a hug. "Sorry I stopped visiting, I had to pick up extra hours to be able to buy a house." She smiled. "How've you been?"

"Oh- uh.. I've been fine.. I guess." I shrugged.

"Babe, who even is this..?" The girl behind Lapis asked. I froze when I heard her call Lapis "babe."

"Oh- right. Peridot, this is Malachite. Malachite this is Peridot. She was my cell mate back in my prison days.

"Mhm totally just a cell mate!" I was starting to get a bit angry, I knew Lapis stopped visiting because she moved on. I shouldn't even be on her doorstep right now. I also should've moved on..

I snapped out of my deep thoughts and looked up to see Lapis staring at me, her face filled with worry.

"Hey- uh It was nice seeing you, Lapis. I think I'm gonna go find a job or something now.." I turned and started walking back towards Stevens car.

"Oh- Okay! Bye Peridot." Lapis called after me.

I gave a small wave then got into Stevens car. "So how'd it go?!" He gave me another toothy smile.

"Terrible- she moved on and I haven't!" I pinched the bridge of my nose. "What am I going to do?"

"Wait- you and Lapis were a thing..?" Steven literally had stars in his eyes as he asked me this question.

"I mean- I guess..? I don't know. We never really made things 'official.' " I sighed.

"I'm sorry.." Steven Sighed.

"No, no it's okay, it's not your fault. Don't worry about it, Okay?" I scratched my forehead. "Hey Steven?"

"Yeah?"

"Can we go to the big donut?"

"Of course."
