Peridots POV

I saw Jasper standing behind Lapis and before I could react, Jasper punched her square in the face. I yelled for help and caught her as she fell over.

Jasper chuckled and then ran off. Guards came running into the cell block and rushed over to us.

"Help! Jasper just punched her!" I was starring down at Lapis's face, which was red and slightly swollen already. I pushed her hair out of her face with my hand, which was shaking and clammy.

"It's going to be okay Lapis, I've got you." Tears we're forming in my eyes as the guards put her on a stretcher and started walking towards the infirmary. I was trying my hardest to convince them to let me come along, but they refused and locked the cellblock door behind them.

I collapsed on the floor, my knees hitting the ground with a loud THUMP. I began to wonder if they'd let me see her at all during this, but I honestly wasn't sure.

The speakers blared something which made the cellblock fill with inmates. I was still sitting in the floor until Pearl walked over and put her hand on my shoulder.

"Peridot? What are you doing..?" She knelt down beside me.

"Jasper.. she punched Lapis and.. she passed out so they took her to the infirmary. They wouldn't let me go with her." Peridot was fully crying now, her eyes getting a bit puffy and red.

"I'm sorry Peridot.. I'm sure they'll let you see her later!"  Pearl helped Peridot back on her feet and walked her over to her cell.

"Thanks Pearl.." She sighed and walked into her cell and sat down on the bed. She thought that this was way worse than solitary confinement.

She tried sleeping away her sadness (relatable) but she couldn't fall asleep.  She gave up on sleeping and started to draw on the walls with the small piece of chalk Lapis had been using to mark the days.

She drew Lapis with large water wings, kind of what she'd look like if she was supernatural. She sighed and drew herself next to her, she had large robotic pieces to replace her limbs and her fingers.

She was so into the drawing that she didn't hear a guard unlock her cell and call for her. The guard had to go and tap her on the shoulder to get her attention.

She jumped at the touch, then turned to look up at Topaz.

"What do you want..?" She mumbled.

"You can come and see her now.." Topaz sighed and looked at the walls of the cell. Chalk pictures covered the walls, and she was amazed by it.

"Okay, take me please!" Peridot was ready to see Lapis, she missed her so damn much.

"Okay, come with me." Topaz lead her out of her cell and down a few hallways before they reached the infirmary. The first bed had Lapis in it, and Peridot rushed over.

"Lapis..?" Peridot walked over and gently caressed her cheek. "I'm so sorry I let this happen to you.." Peridot leaned down and kissed Lapis on the forehead. "I promise it won't happen again.."

Lapis's eyes fluttered open and she looked at Peridot and smiled. "Peridot."

"Yes?"

"I love you."

"I.." Peridots face turned a bright red, and she was stumbling on her words.

"I-I love you too, Lazuli.."
