Lapis's POV

I followed the guard to a room that was separated in half by a glass wall. There were small booths in the room, with stools on either side and a phone attached to the wall.

The guard showed me to the little booth where my visitor was, and I sat down. My eyes widened at who was staring back at me.

"You'll have 10 minutes to talk." The guard unlocked my cuffs and turned around to stand near the door.

I picked up the phone slowly, still maintaining eye contact with the woman. I put it to my ear and braced for the lecture I was about to receive.

"Hey mom.," I said slowly, ready for my eardrums to be blasted by the yelling from my mother. Instead of yelling though, she sighed. "What have you done, Lapis?" She was holding back her tears.

"I-I'm sorry.." I hung my head in shame. My mom slammed down the phone and left the room. I sighed as tears trickled down my face and the guard locked me back in my restraints.

"You've got 5 minutes in your cell until shower time." He walked me to my cell and I walked in, Peridot widening her eyes when she saw me crying.

"Are you okay?" She rushed over and wiped my face with her sleeve. I nodded and she backed up to sit down on the bed.

"We're about to have our first shower time in prison." I chuckled and grabbed the one towel we had in our room. "We're going to have to share this so try not to soak it." She nodded and I slung the towel over my shoulder.

A female guard came in to escort us and the other female prisoners to the showers. "Only two to a stall." Everyone packed into the stalls, which left only one open for Peridot and I. They were small stalls too, hardly any room.

"You'll have 10 minutes starting now. So you better get dried off and dressed before your time is up." The guard turned a valve that turned on all of the showers and she went and stood near the door, still able to make sure everyone was following the rules.

I began to strip, and I slung my jumpsuit over the wall of the stall. I watched as Peridot did the same, and we were both standing halfway in the water, halfway out of it. The water was cold, causing a chill to be sent down my spine. I shuttered a bit, and crossed my arms over my chest; which didn't help at all.

Peridot must have noticed this because when I glanced up I saw her fiddling with the hot water knob. Everyone must've been using hot water because ours was still cold.

She eventually gave up, turned her back on me a bit and let the water run over her shoulders. I was used to the water by now, but the awkward silence in the stall was absolutely killing me.

She turned around, and I noticed how hard she was trying to keep her eyes away from meeting with my own. We made eye contact for a second before she darted her eyes to look at something other than me.

"5 minutes left!" The guard's voice echoed throughout the room, bouncing off the walls. A few of the prisoners were already done showering and had already left.

I sighed and turned to face Peridot, who was sort-of leaning against the stall wall. I walked up to her and placed my hands on her sides.

"Lazuli w-what're you doing?" Her face turned a bright red and started picking at her fingernails.

"Can I kiss you?" I whispered, inching closer to her face enough to where I could feel her breath. Without saying anything, she nodded and tugged my neck down to close the space between us.

A few sloppy kisses later, I started to kiss down her neck, leaving small bruises. I was about to do more before the guard slammed open our stall door.

"What do you two think you're doing?" She groaned and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Listen, kids, just get dressed and I'll talk with you all later." She rolled her eyes and walked out of our stall. "And hurry, please."

We nodded and started to dry off, the only sound in the room was of water drops dripping out of the turned off showers.

We got dressed back into our jumpsuits and walked outside the cell. The guard greeted us by cuffing us both and walking us out. We assumed that we were going back to our cell, but then the guard kept going. She walked right past it.

"Uh, our cell was back there." I looked at the woman leading us to god knows where.

"We're going somewhere else." She kept looking forward, a bit of a harsh tone in her voice.

"Where?" Peridot spoke up from behind us, also trying to figure out where we were going.

"To the boss."
