Lonely Guardian of Konoha [Completed]

CHAPTER 42

The day had come, today was the day that the Fire Daimyo was to come to Konoha, the gate area was filled with people, villagers and ninja alike waiting to get a glimpse of their overlord. The people waited for hours, and alas Izumo the gatekeeper looked into the horizon from his gatepost and shouted,

"He's coming"

These two simple words were enough to garner the attention of everyone and put the crowd back into a sense of anticipation. Most of the villagers knew of the Daimyo but had never seen him, and this was a perfect moment for them to finally know who it was that managed their village from the shadows.

A few minutes later a carriage appeared, it was obviously he Fire Daimyo's as there was a pattern of fire drawn on it. The carriage was guarded by quite a few ninja that were wearing masks quite similar to the ANBU masks. These ninja seemed to be at least jonin level. The villagers already thought that no one would be stupid enough to attack the Daimyo seeing this but the ninja in the crowd knew that there were even more powerful ninja hiding and protecting the Daimyo.

After the daimyo's carriage was inside the village the crowd tried to surround the carriage but what they didn't expect was another carriage that was closely following the Fire Daimyo's carriage. The people were surprised, who would this be? There was a drawing of mountains in the second carriage and there were also quite a few jonin level ninja guarding it, but the villagers couldn't guess who this was, the higher level ninja were the only ones who knew that this was the Earth Daimyo.

At first they were surprised, but then it made sense. This was a matter regarding the destruction of the village hidden in the rocks, which was under the territory of the Earth Daimyo, if he wasn't here to pass judgment on the one who destroyed his village, wouldn't it be an outrage?

The two carriages didn't stop as they kept moving straight towards the heart of the town where the hokage's tower was placed. The two carriages stopped right in front of the hokage tower, the hokage stood at the entrance to welcome them, First the Fire Daimyo stepped out of the carriage, he was old, and was wearing a white robe with a weird hat that had what seemed like a hand fan at the top, the hand fan held pictures of flames, probably to represent that he was the 'Fire' daimyo. As soon as he was out of the carriage the jonins around the carriage surrounded him as to protect him and didn't let anyone come near.

Then came the earth daimyo who was also a bit old and had a similar outfit, except for the fact that his hat fan had pictures of mountains on it. The jonins around his carriage also did the same as the ones before and guided the two into the hokage tower.

Once the two Daimyos were in the villagers and ninja who had been following them slowly dispersed, the jonin who were guarding the Daimyos split up, a large number of them remaining at the gate and four of them following the two daimyos into the tower.

"Welcome to Konoha Daimyo-san" said Tsunade,

The Fire Daimyo simply nodded as the Earth Daimyo ignored her completely, seeing this Tsunade felt the need to attach an apology for what had happened to the Earth Daimyo's village.

"Earth Daimyo, my sincere apology for the loss of your village"

The Earth Daimyo still remained as if he hadn't heard it. The Fire Daimyo sensing the awkwardness in the air decided to butt in,

"Well it was a great loss indeed, and you say it was one ninja who did all this?" asked the Fire Daimyo, sounding interested,

"Yes Daimyo, the 15 year old Jinchuuriki of the nine-tailed fox" replied Tsunade.

"Hmm, this is indeed a problem, well, we shall decide his fate at the trial held day after tomorrow, for now I think I speak for both myself and the Earth Daimyo when I say that we are tired from our very long journey and would like to rest for a while." Spoke the Fire Daimyo.

"Of course Daimyo-san, we have prepared two comfortable rooms in the best inn we have to accommodate you, if you have any qualms or needs please don't hesitate to call someone" said Tsunade as she signaled one of her ANBU to guide the two Daimyos to the inn.

As the left Tsunade let out a breath that she was holding, mentally she thanked Shikaku for being such a genius otherwise she would've forgotten to invite the Earth Daimyo, if his attitude was as such when he had been called to give punishment what would his mood be like if they had forgotten to invite him?
