Chapter 62.1 ~ Banquet

AN: I'm so sorry for the late update >_<!!! I thought I updated it this morning but turns out, I didn't! I'm so sorry T_T !!!

Tonight, the royal castle will be holding a banquet to celebrate the safe return of Princess Aria who apparently got attacked during her return.

She was saved by a group of adventurers who seemed to be fairly popular. In fact, even Vanessa, a daughter of a marquis, who wasn't familiar with the adventurer's world at all, had heard of them.

And tonight, she'd also have the chance to meet the saviors of the princess, although she was not that interested in them. The only reason why she had to come was because firstly, her family was invited.

Since her brother was working in their fief and not in the royal capital at the moment, she had to come in his stead. Second, she was to create connections during the banquet and ideally, found a spouse who she liked and is of higher or at least the same rank than her.

Of course she was not that eager to marry at this moment since she was still fifteen. Although there were many nobles whose family already set a fiance for them since they were young, Vanessa's family allow them to find the one of their choosing. Thus, she was also not against the chance of meeting a suitable partner for her by coming here.

A handsome young man with great personality, etiquette, intelligence, and strength to protect her would be ideal. However, she only know of one man who meet all those requirements perfectly. The crown prince, Alvis von Arcland. Unfortunately, he already had a fiancé, and an incredibly outstanding one at that.

Vanessa's appearance was by no means below average. In fact, she was a very beautiful young lady who had received numerous proposals from other noblemen's sons. However, compared to her, the prince's fiancé was far more beautiful.

She was the epitome of noble woman who's not only beautiful, but also gentle, wise, talented in magic, and caring. Vanessa simply stand no chance against such perfect woman.

She knew that the man of her dreams might just be a dream. That's why she was not that eager to marry quickly.

But, there's no harm in creating connections between other noble ladies. She could also meet her friends who she met in the Royal Academy.

All noble's children who had reached the age of 15 are required to attend this academy in order to study about magic, martial arts, etiquette, socializing, and other standard subjects such as math, history, physics, etc. 

Although, most nobles prefer to focus on magic, socializing and their studies rather than martial arts, they were still required to be on a certain level.

Vanessa has two friends she's especially intimate with and both of them were invited to the banquet as well. Thus, she felt slightly more excited now that she could meet her friends during this holiday.

After she had finished her makeup, dress, and other sorts of preparation necessary for a noble lady to go to a banquet, Vanessa would be head towards the royal castle together with her father, Liam von Derulia.

Her father was quite an influential noble, holding the position of marquis. The fact that their family lives in the inner circle of the royal capital was the prove of that. Being in a family of such an influential noble, Vanessa has been honing her lady skills. Etiquette, bearings, speech, and appearance, she had trained to perfect all of them since her childhood.
