Chapter 76.2 ~ Night of Operation

In a small voice, Leon mumbled.

"I hope the other side is doing well."

As soon as he was done saying that, an earthquake happened.

"Geh, did Leon really unlock this complex triplet magic seal on this door in a few minutes? That guys is ridiculous..."

"Is it that hard?"

"Of course it is! Even I could only unlock it after spending a few days on it uninterrupted."

"Well, that's Leon for you."

"Sir Leon is amazing isn't he..."

"Ssh, there's a guard. Prepare to neutralise him."

Mia, Rafael and Iris immediately quiet down after Alex told them about the incoming guard. There was actually supposed to be a lot more guards patrolling there. However, since the majority of household knights were in prison and the rest was guarding the Paxi in his meeting, there's only a few guards here.

Lily and the others have already took care of most of them on the way to the underground prison but it seems that they left one.

With a soft whisper, Lily spoke to Charlotte and Alex.

"Char, can you disable his movement for a second? It will just be so he can't dodge my arrow. And Alex, please catch him when he's falling so his armor won't make any noise."

"Uhn."

"Understood."

"Wait Lily, are you trying to kill him?"

"No, I'm just going to shoot him with a round-tipped mana arrow to knock him out."

"What?"

Creating a mana arrow was already hard enough in of itself. Even Mia was only able to produce it after weeks of practice, and it was even harder to manipulate it. She actually learned it so she would have a chantless spell with good penetrating power since <<Flame Lance>> needs a chant. Although she could create 10 mana arrows at once and fire it, it's just a basic spell with no need to manipulate its shape and trajectory.

But now, to hit the guard who was she didn't have a line of sight on, Lily needs to accurately predict his position, change the shape of the mana arrow, and control its trajectory. Needless to say, it requires an incredible amount of skill and finesse to achieve.

Lily readied her bow and closed her eyes. Although an archer usually needs visual confirmation on the target's location, this time the target wasn't even in her line of sight, thus she closed them and rather concentrate on the sound of his footsteps to confirm his location.

A light blue ethereal arrow with balled tip appeared on her bow's string. Normal arrows with such tip will usually become off balance and would need adjustments to hit the target. However, since it was a mana arrow, there wasn't any mass to begin with, thus Lily could fire it like a normal mana arrow.

"Now."

The spell Charlotte casted was considered as a weak spell in Grandeur Fantasia by the community. It's a single target spell that deals no damage with 20 seconds cooldown time, and it disables the target for just a short period of time. However, Leon used it quite often. Not only can it be instantly cast, it could be use to interrupt players who are casting skills, given if it was casted with the right timing, and slows the target down by 20% of their original movement speed for a duration.

It was not a flashy spell, nor does it look important. But in terms of tactics, if used correctly, it was an incredibly powerful spell, and Leon was able to utilise it to its fullest.

Surely enough, the guard fell into a daydream for just a few seconds. But it was enough time for Lily's arrow to hit him in the solar plexus, making him fall unconscious. With swift steps, Alex rushed towards the guard and caught him.

When they see the fainted guard, they were surprised by one thing. There was a clear baseball sized and shaped dent on the guard's metal armor which meant only one thing. Lily's arrow had the force of a 10 kg baseball dropped from the 8th floor. Rather than doubting if the guard fell unconscious instantly, they doubted whether he was able to survive that.

"...Lily is becoming absurd like Leon."

"I need to be careful not to anger her..."

"Has master infected Lily as well?"

"Nice, Lily~"

"Ooh, good job Lily. Do that again to the girls who tried to seduce our darling."

"Don't, that would be bad!"

"Lily, your archery is impressive!"

"Ehehehe~"

Lily giggled shyly after being praised by her friends (although the first three doesn't sound like praises). No one would believe that this cute blushing girl was able to do something so scary.

In fact, people other than Crimson Lightning, Aria, and Iris (who just found out recently) didn't know that Lily will become incredibly scary if someone messes with her friends. And what's even scarier is the fact that Lily didn't realise it herself. In addition, there is another part of her which many people don't know.

When she was being romantic with Leon, she was even more passionate than Vyra and even Freya. Freya and Vyra would still feel a bit embarrassed when Leon kissed them, but Lily only felt the feeling of wanting more and more, so much so that her embarrassment was overshadowed.

If Freya was a sheep in a wolf's clothing while Vyra was a sheep through and through, Lily was a wolf in sheep's clothing. When it gets heated, Leon might be the one finding his own lips getting devoured by Lily until she's satisfied.

After confirming there weren't any guards left, they returned to the door leading to the underground basement where the knights' families were kept in.

They finally reach the underground floor after going down several flight of stairs. As they go down, the humidity rises and a unpleasant smell begin to fill the air. It reeks of a mixture of sweat, human detritus and other vomit. In addition to being pitch black, it was not a place where humans were supposed to stay in for a long time.

Freya and Charlotte used a light spell to light up the room and what they saw atrocious. In the prison cells were numerous women and young children, all of them wearing dirty rags that couldn't even qualify as clothes. Their bodies covered in wounds and were visibly malnourished. On the corner of each prison cells were a pile of human waste and on the other corner, was where they were staying.

It was hell. Immediately, Freya used an area healing spell to heal all of their wounds and recover their stamina while Charlotte cleansed them off any bad status they got from such environment. In addition, Charlotte casts <<Spell: Calming Wind>> to clean the air and give a calming effect to the captives.

The women and children who looked like they have no more energy, cried as soon as they saw Freya and the others. They realise that help has come and a little bit of light returned to their eyes. All of them cried and said their gratitude over and over as they were being carried out of the prison cells and out of the mansion. It was the first time in weeks that they've finally breathe a breath of fresh air.

There were approximately 50 women and children cramped in those prison cells, but the rescue went smoothly.

As soon as they got out of the mansion, the captives were immediately escorted to the royal castle by the knights who were already on stand by so they could meet their husbands and fathers who were kept there. However, as last carriage depart, an earthquake happened.

The ground near the mansion rose and soon broke, revealing a 10 meter high wolf-like creature with numerous ivy-like tentacles around its neck.

As it roared, the calm night air of the royal capital trembled.
