Chapter 89.1 ~ Headmistress

AN: Might be a shorter chapter this week, mostly because there are a lot of subplots that I want to include and I have to get this one out of the way. Hope you guys have a good day or night wherever you live~!

"Ufufufu, it seems you are unfazed by this outfit."

Irene chuckled as she covered her mouth with her hand. Seeing the smile of an incredibly beautiful woman such as Irene would be something that men would sacrifice anything for. Even Leon admitted that she was a transcendent beauty.

Although he didn't mean to compare, his first impression of Irene was that of a combination of Freya and Iris. She has a similar figure and personality to Freya and Iris's bold and brave appearance. Though it was only on the surface.

Leon knew that both Iris and Freya were very innocent and cute on the inside. However, he didn't know of Irene's personality. This was what made him be on guard against her.

"Forgive me if I offended you."

"Hehe, it's fine. I know your heart belongs to your lovers. I've heard from Julia. You have 5 lovers, including the princess and the captain of her royal guards right?"

"Yes."

"I see. Well, it is a shame that you don't feel anything towards me right now. I, myself, am very interested in you, you know? And it's not just related to magic~"

"...It's an honor."

"Ah, but just so you know. I will do my best to make you become interested in me as well~."

Leon wondered if she was planning something by wanting to make him interested in her. But Leon couldn't sense any ill intent in her words or lies in her eyes.

Irene smiled and changed her outfit into a less revealing version.

"Now then. First of all, thank you very much for agreeing to become a substitute teacher for the Royal Academy, Leon."

"It is my honor to be given a chance to teach in the Royal Academy, Ms. Irene. Though if I may ask, why do you need a substitute in the first place and why did you ask for me?"

"The teacher that handled this class A acted slightly disrespectful towards a duke's daughter. Hence, he was forced to leave the academy. I tried to stop it, but apparently the teacher accidentally hurt the said student during a practical magic lesson. Although the evidence was lacking, I couldn't stop it... I'm really in a bind since the royal academy's tournament would be at the end of the year."

"I see."

Although the Royal Academy believed in equality among students, the reality was that there were still hierarchies that corresponds to their standings as nobles. It was a simulation for the real noble society they would live in the future.

"May I have an explanation about the tournament?"

"Of course. It is an inter-class tournament which will last for 4 days. Each class will choose a team of 7 students to be their representatives and enter the inter-class tournament; 5 for the main team, 1 as a substitute and 1 as a support.

The first two days will be the elimination rounds. During these rounds, each team will compete in a best of 5 duels. For each battle, a point will be given the the team; two points for victory, 1 point for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.

The 4 classes with the highest points will move on to the third day which will be a team battle. All five members of the team will compete in a prepared arena with random environment created by me. It is a mere illusion, but it would suffice. Lastly, on the last day, the finalists are going and semifinalists are going to compete against each other in the same manner to determine the first, second and third place."
