Chapter 101.2 ~ Levels

AN: Rewatched a bit of Tensei Slime coz my internet died in the morning. Still sad because of uhm... yeah. I'll definitely change some things from the canon in my fanfic, though I still have to figure out how I'm gonna write it.

"Now then, Ms. Yves, Mr. Gardner, there's another reason as to why I decided to tell you about 'levels' and level requirements to wield weapons and other equipment."

Leon started after Gardner calmed down.

"What would that be, Leon?"

Yves asked as she took a sip of the prepared tea.

"It is because I would like to improve our odds against the dark monsters."

Gardner held his chin and gave Leon a thoughtful look.

"I see. Giving the two of us the knowledge of levels and the level requirements needed to equip certain ranks of weapon would indeed make it easier for us to allocate suitable people and resources for the battle against dark monsters. Especially because I own one of the largest weapon shops and Ms. Yves is the guild master of the Royal Capital branch Adventurer's Guild."

"Indeed... Leon, can you tell us the average level of adventurers in this city?"

"Certainly. The average level of adventurers in this city is around level 20. Rank C adventurers are about 25 - 30. Rank B is around 31-40. While A ranks are 41 and above."

"I see... So even the weakest dark monster could only be handled by a group of B ranked adventurers and above because they're all at least Menace Class..."

"Yes."

Silenced envelope the room as the air turns heavy from Leon's revelation.

Even the weakest dark monster requires that many high ranked adventurers to defeat... That meant the dark ogre, a disaster class monster that has been empowered by the dark curse, would definitely require many higher-ranked adventurers to defeat.

They're on the level that only A ranked adventurers could go against. They'd need at least two elite A rank parties that could work well together and a few B rank parties for support.

"And to think there was such monster appearing in Arlenia forest..."

Yves looked down at her hands. She clasped them tightly as they rest on her lap. It was a very fearsome situation. These monsters that could destroy cities and kingdoms could appear in any place with monsters. The only saving grace might be the rarity in which they appear. In these few months, only six, including the four Leon and Crimson Lightning defeated, were reported. But who knew how many more there are.

"I see. Then Leon, you want me and my Heaven's Forge to make weapons and armor to fight against the dark monsters."

"Correct. By understanding the level requirement for equipping weapons and armor, it would be easier for you to allocate resources to make weapons that could go against dark monsters."

"... I understand that. But I cannot provide all the weapons we need to defeat dark monsters. There simply aren't enough materials and manpower to forge weapons that strong. We're talking B ranked weapons and above here."
