The name fitted. It was a palace with all the letters of the word.
Gabri had never seen a palace since she left Bavaria. In the Duchy, there were huge beautiful palaces: the Munich Residenz and Nymphemburg in the capital, the Dachau Palace, Linderhof, Possenhofen, Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein. But Livadia could perfectly compete with them in beauty.
But its beauty didn't distract Gabri. She looked to Alexei, who seemed paler than ever and with a little tremble in his hands. A sense of worry overcame her. He was acting strange. Was there something wrong with him and related to the palace?
Gabri knew that, for Alexei, his past was a tough subject. So, she wasn't gonna ask. "If he wanted to tell me about it, he would have already done it" Gabri thought.
They followed Kseniya inside the palace. Lots of nurses were going for side to side.
"Is there lots of injured people?" Sophie asked
"No" Kseniya answered "They are always like that. If there were injured, this place would be a true chaos" She smiled "The rooms were you can stay are in this zone" She pointed to a determinate corridor.
"Is this a palace or it just has the name?" Sophie asked looking to the roof.
"It was a palace. A Russian Imperial summer palace" Kseniya said, calmly
"So, we are going to stay in the same rooms as royals?" Sophie asked it with an enthusiasm that could be usual, if they didn't know that she was a princess.
"No, the Whites forbid it" Kseniya said, shocking her head. Sophie changed her face to disappointment.
After leaving their things (except their hoods, that were still over their heads, by Lilth's order) in their rooms, Kseniya gave them a tour in the palace, just avoiding the zone of the palace where supposedly the Russian royals stayed.
Gabri looked to Alexei. He seemed uncomfortable about something. Kseniya then decided not to visit the garden, telling them that they can visit freely later. Just they have to be careful with a wolf that was always surrounding the garden.
Alexei put a tiny smile for less than a second when Kseniya mentioned the wolf. Gabri noticed. "Or maybe nothing troubles him, maybe he's just strange" she thought.
Lilth asked Kseniya about the current situation of the rebels. They had enough soldiers and nurses and were ready for battle. But Kseniya mentioned a silent "But..." hoping no one had heard it, but Lilth had.
"But what?" Lilth asked
"The Whites..." Kseniya started "You know about the theory of the Imperial survivors?"
Everyone nodded. They remembered from the Council session. Alexei's hands trembled
"The Whites, or at least a majority of them, believe that theory of course as it's theirs" Kseniya followed "That makes a big problem. Some Whites want to help, but the others, the ones I'm talking about... No, unless they have their leader which is..."
"The Tsar" Alexei cut her off.
"That's a big problem" Lilth said "We have to solve it quickly"
"Can we go see the garden?" Sophie pleaded Gabri
The German looked to Lilth, like asking permission. The Atlant Colonel nodded. Sophie smiled and started pulling Gabri's wrist. The black-haired looked to Alexei. But the brownish blonde didn't move.
"C'mon" Sophie pleaded
"Ja..." Gabri said and followed
When both girls had disappeared, Alexei looked to Lilth.
