Gabri woke up the next morning. She could still notice the traces of the dry tears in her cheeks. Her head was still leaning in Alexei's chest. She got up and looked to the young Russian who was sleeping. He looked so cute.
Gabri smiled and caressed his brownish blonde hair and swirled his hair strand. So soft. He opened his eyes slowly.
"Morning" he said, slowly with a smile forming in his lips.
"Morning" She replied
"Are you feeling better?" he asked while sitting down.
"Yeah, pretty much" she said "Thanks"
"No need to thank" he said "We're friends and friends support each other in difficult moments."
"But I want to thank you anyway" she said "And I... Also apologize about... Well, you know"
"Don't worry, I've gone through the same" He replied, sweetly "It's something tough"
Both looked into each other. The bright sunlight was filling the bedroom. Gabri noticed that this light was making Alexei's hair blonder. But the silence was becoming uncomfortable for Alexei. He felt a tiny blush.
"Your bedroom is pretty" he said, breaking the silence and looking away.
"Umm... Thanks, I suppose" she said, surprised by his sudden reaction and comment.
Alexei looked around, avoiding her glare and scanning the room fully. Something caught his atenttion.
"You have one of these?" he said, getting up and approaching the object.
"Yeah, it was a present from my grandmother. She brought it in her last travel to Russia, back in the 90s" she answered "I don't know what's the exact name she said"
"Matryoshka, that's its name" Alexei said while taking it "I never had one but I've seen them"
The object was rounded wooden doll. Its hair was a type of dark brown, nearly black. Its eyes were icy blue, that Alexei thought they resembled Gabri's. Its costume was red and golden with a pattern of flames. It could be noticed that it had a golden crown with a red jewel in form of a tear.
"How was this?" Alexei said to himself. He moved the doll carefully and opened it "Done!" he said with a slight cheerful tone.
Inside, the doll's hair was brownish blonde - Alexei find it similar to his own hair - and its eyes were blue. Its costume was light blue and silver with a pattern of ice stars. It had a silver crown with the tear jewel in blue.
Alexei had to reach the sixth doll to find again the exact copy of the first one. The third had black hair, brown eyes, green and golden costume with a pattern of flowers and a golden crown with the tear jewel in green. The fourth had greyish blonde hair, grey eyes, yellow and silver costume with a pattern of wind. And the same tear jewel crown. The fifth was an older woman dressed in white.
"How many there are?" Alexei asked
"I think... Eleven" Gabri said and got up "Five, other five exactly similar and in the same order and a last tiny one that if I remember correctly was a boy with closed eyes"
"They're pretty" he whispered. He put every doll inside the first and left where it was.
Suddenly, something was heard in the room. It was a sharp and soft melody.
"What's that and where does it come from?" He asked and looked around the room.
"The clock. Here" She said and pointed to a wooden house with a clock with Roman numbers "It's eleven already"
