In Alexei's mind, he had to think what demons made him decide to drink vodka that day.
First, he knew that the hangover could be that painful. His head had felt like a pure mess. If his parents saw him yesterday... Well, they had already seen him like that. He had already thought - and promised to himself - in not drinking vodka ever, back when he was... Eight? Yeah, and he remembered that long, long, long lecture of his parents in his first hangover.
Second, not remembering anything. He had drunk possibly more than back then or something like that. Well, about that day he didn't remember quite well. He just remembered... No, he didn't remember anything apart of how he had got drunk and next morning, he woke up in his bed, like usually but with his head hurting lots. His mother had told him that Monsieur Gillard had seen him, had warned her and she brought him to bed. She seemed angry buy didn't show it while lecturing him. Neither his father did. Thinking about that, they had never got angry towards him. Just calm lectures when he did something wrong. Or when he was under Olga's tutelage, the rants were thrown at her.
"Stop thinking" a little voice inside his head said. The last time he had thought about that - his past, his family -, he had ended depressed and after... After what? Next day, he woke up in his bed. That just fitted. He had drown his sorrows in alcohol. That's why he drank the vodka and got drunk.
"I just hope that I'm not gonna do that each time I get depressed" he thought.
But Gabri knew something. She was like hiding something. Had she lied to him about that incident? In his mind, he had probably done something truly embarrasing. That made him shiver. He had done something embarrasing while drunk for sure.
"Gabri, can I talk with you?" he asked. They were nearly arriving to the Hessian main city, Darmstadt.
"What about?" she asked. Her eyes stared to his "About the vodka incident?" Alexei nodded
"I think you're hiding something" He said calmly "Have I done something embarrasing?"
"Well..." she started thinking "You did enter in my room and you were already drunk. I tried to get you to your bed but you were determined in saying that you weren't drunk" she said "Fine, I've to admit that you did something embarrasing. I finally had to drag you to bed and you just protested that seemed a toddler tantrum"
Alexei blushed "I'm so so so sorry"
"You were drunk. It was the vodka's fault" she said, reassuring him.
"Yeah, suppose so" he said
"And what made you get drunk?" she said "Don't seem the type of boy who'd get drunk"
"I think... I just drank to... Well, to drown sorrows in alcohol... That's what I believe" he said
"You were depressed that night" she said "It fits"
"How did you know I was drunk?" he asked
"First, your mouth smelled to alcohol and second, you were acting pretty strange to be yourself" she said "Apart, I was born in the country of beer. I've gone to banquets with my parents. Lots of noblemen end drunk. And in Bavaria, there is a beer festival each year since more than 100 years ago" She laughed "Don't you worry, your tantrum would be nothing embarrasing compared to those banquets"
"I suppose so" He smiled. They were pretty close to each other.
But Sophie entered.
"We are in Darmstadt!" she shouted "Do you come for a walk with me? Say yes, say yes, say yes!" she started, excited.
"Yes" Alexei said "You come?"
"Yeah" Gabri answered
"Yay!" Sophie said, jumped and clapped her hands. Both laughed and followed her.
