Chapter 17 : Night party

The afternoon has been very quick. Zara and the two siblings were waiting for Aunt Claire's return at the John Hammond center. While waiting – Gray was playing to be a paleontologist in the children digging area. Meanwhile – Maddy kept looking at pictures of her dad and his sailors posing aboard the USS Bastogne – the USS Khe Sanh or even the USS Lexington or the USS Yorktown.

Finally Claire headed towards the quartet.

« Aunt Claire ! » yelled Gray. « Did my nephew and my niece have a nice day ? And has Zara been nice towards you ? », « She accompanied us to many attractions. I rode a baby Triceratops, and I performed tree climbing, and we even saw fantastic animals ... », « And we're gonna have plenty of things to do this evening ! » Emma interrupted. « I'd like to introduce you to Maddy – aunt Claire !, Gray excitedly said. I met her on the bus to the Isla Nublar ferry ! ». Then Maddy Murphy raised her eyes to see Claire and simply said 'Hello.'

« Thank you very much Zara. I'll be with my nephew and niece tommorow. » Claire said. « No problem – boss, the assistant answered. I could meet Emma – Gray and Maddy for the fireworks tonight. Who knows ? ». « See you tonight Zara. » Maddy and Gray happily said. Zara then left the group and started talking on her phone.

« I saved a table at the Crichton's for all of us. Their meals are delicious. You're gonna tell me about your afternoon. And tomorrow you're going to have a surprise. » Claire said. « I hope the food they cook will be better than my father's Meal Ready-to-Eat. » Maddy said. « It is. » Claire answered.

Claire and the children then walked in the restaurant alley. « And how about your parents ? », « Mom and Dad just got promoted. ». Maddy then talked about herself so Claire could know more about her.

Meanwhile – as the fleet was at DEFCON 3 alert – Tim, and Jackie and their men were finally ordered to get on Isla Nublar via helicopters from the USS Lexington. The men retrieved M4 and M16 rifles and M590A1 shotguns as well as spare ammunition and grenades. They then mounted into helicopters which flew them straight to a clearing on the island.

After hitting the ground – Murphy and Nolan led their men straight to Jurassic World via a small path to the forest and ended up at the Crichton's restaurant in Main Street.

« Where's Claire Dearing ? » Tim asked loudly. « I am. Why do you look for me ? And who are you by the way ? » Claire reponded standing up. « US Navy Lieutenant Timmy Murphy. And this is my second in command Jackie Nolan. We want you to tell your boss that the UNO, and the US Government, and the USAMRIID and the WHO have allowed the US 11th Fleet to prevent the bacteria Echartalia Ecoli spreading out of this island by any means necessary. Especially if a crisis occurs. » Tim answered. Claire then contacted Hamada before giving the phone to Tim and doing the same for Masrani. From now on – any crisis is handled by the joint efforts of the UNO and US 11th Fleet.

Masrani was obviously upset but couldn't do anything. But it was the UNO regulations that imposed such a response to the park.

At night – while waiting for the firework – Emma and Gray were sitting in a VIP chair which allowed the to see the roof of the Discovery Center. On a grassy terrain – tourists were waiting for the firework announcing the 10-year anniversary of Jurassic World. Maddy was sitting as far as she could from the crowd and watching pictures upon her phone.

At the opposite side of the park – Tim and Jackie were talking about their job while their men were cleaning their guns when Medic Unger came in. « Sorry sir. Sorry ma'am. I just wanted to tell you something. », « What is it then ? », « I don't feel good only in thinking about this event. This park smells like profit more than anything else. If a disaster occurs – I think it's gonna meet its demise. », « I agree. Dinosaurs are only known by guess. We can't control what you don't know. It ain't like a US Navy 150-man force. », « I got your point. But you've been confronted by dinosaurs when you were younger – weren't you ? », « Yes we were. That's why we think this park will fall. ».

Journalists were filming and recording Masrani's speach. « ... so we celebrate the 10 years of Jurassic World ! Come and see our newest attractions ! Enjoy the firework, and the party and the holiday ! »

A few minutes later – Claire sat next to her nephews and Zara. « Forgive me ! I was interviewed by journalists ! » she said. « Wow ! You're well dressed – Aunt Claire. » Emma said.

Twenty minutes later – the firework began and Tim ordered Jackie to tell to the men to follow him – which was done as they were already fully equiped.

As the fireworks lighted the sky – Masrani sat next to Ed Regis at the opposite of the place where Claire – her nephews and Zara were sitting. He was surprised to see that the chairs saved for Owen Grady and Maisie Lockwood were unoccupied.

« Mr. Grady and Ms. Lockwood – his foster daughter – aren't coming tonight – right Mr. Regis ? », « They prefer to avoid that kind of event. You see – their lifestyle. ».

As several hundreds of visitors were partying and dancing – Tim, and Jackie and their men finally arrived at Owen's mansion to meet him in person. The latter was sitting and drinking soda with Maisie while watching the firework from afar suspiciously. « It's gonna end up in a chaotic disaster. » Owen said. « We agree. A dino park will never work indefinitely. » Tim and Jackie replied as their men settled down. Owen smiled and gave each sailor a bottle of soda – Tim and Jackie being the last ones. « To Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm. » everybody said cheering.
