Jurassic World : alternative version

Chapter 1 : Isla Nublar - off the Western coast of Costa Rica

December 2014. As the world prepares to celebrate Christmas – a four-man group stood in front of an enormous building. All of them were wearing Hazmat suits – with the leader wearing a blue one and the others sporting yellow ones. It was a hot night – but wind was freshening the air.

Upon watchtowers above the said building – three rifle-armed guards were also wearing similar-looking light green suits.

« Are you guys ready ? » the blue man said – a mustached Hispanic man. « Glasses – OK – gloves – OK. But I look like a scuba diver here ! » a much younger one answered – obviously stressed and affraid. « Don't start jocking – Manolo – you know what's in here. And being here doesn't allow you to complain at every problem. We all got briefed and you were there as well. OK ? » the chief answered. « OK – boss. » Manolo said. « Paolo – Felipe – Manolo – is your radio equipment OK ? » - « Si senior » they answered him « Mike – Ernesto here. Do you read me ? ». « Gotcha loud and clear – dude ! The Torvos are taking a nap – but they don't seem tired. There's one watching the cage – over. ». « Alright – Mike open at my signal. ». « Manolo – use the LRAD. ».

Among the four men – Manolo was the only one sporting a backpack containing the said LRAD. The men themselves were sporting helmets not to be deaf. « Si senior. I turn it on and I pull it in front of me. », « That's it – Manolo. The Allos are scared of the sound. ».

The four men were heading down a corridor which led to the building itself – which was in the middle of a clearing. The four Hispanic workers were escorted by men wielding AR-15-type assault rifles – which looked like the ones used by US Armed Forces or by the DEA, and the FBI, or CIA. These men were wearing blue helmets and body armor sporting the words 'Jurassic World'. Soon they arrived at an armored door which had a board on it.

WARNING CONTAMINATION

ACCESS FORBIDDEN TO :

- PERSONS NOT PART OF THE STAFF

- PERSONS NOT WEARING A HAZMAT SUIT

- UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL

INGEN DENIES ANY RESPONSIBILITIES IF ANY PERSON ENTERS INTO THIS AREA WITHOUT FOLLOWING THE PREREQUESITES

« Why are we removing the feces of the Torvos at night ? » Manolo then asked Ernesto. « Cause we don't wanna disturb'em. And also for safety reasons. But as Mike told me they're not sleeping – we're gonna have to use the LRAD. Mike – open the door » said Ernesto. A 'click' sound is then emitted. « After you – Manolo » Ernesto said.

Then Manolo turned his miniature LRAD on. The effect is immediate. The Torvosauruses screamed with pain and stayed away from the workers as Felipe opened the door. They then entered the paddock with Paolo standing behind in case something goes wrong. Fortunately for the workers – the dinosaur droppings were quite close.

But the LRAD broke off and the sound ceased immediately.

« Senior – we got a problem » Manolo said. « Mierda. Who forgot to switch the battery ? » Ernesto screamed, then « Ernesto – this is Mike. We got another problem. One the four Torvos vanished. ». « Smoke !! » Ernesto shouted. Four smoke grenades fell into the padock – filling it with gas clouds. The three other dinosaurs didn't go further – which proved they learnt to avoid gas clouds.

Manolo then saw the tree in front of him moving and ran to the door until he felt something grabbing him. « Dios Mios. It disappears like El Diablo ! » Felipe, and Ernesto, and Paolo screamed. A jaw suddenly appeared and the guards in the watchtowers could now aim.

Then seringues were shot but too late. The dinosaur then bit Manolo's leg before dropping him growling.

The three other men dragged Manolo – screaming « El Diablo – El Diablo. » towards the corridor before closing the gate.
