Chapter 21 : The Dilophosaurus dome

« You have a remarkable collection of plants ! » Hamada said. « Yes and we are the only ones to do so. We are the only ones who can clone and grow plants from the dinosaur period. And we patented them to be protected in case of corporation spying. Our botanists take care of the plants and perform research at the same time. Ellie Sattler would be jalous if she was here ! » Regis explained.

As Hamada – Regis and Masrani were visiting the Jurassic World Tropical Greenhouse. As Regis said – this greenhouse was the only one in thee world which housed prehistoric plants which existed at the time of the dinosaurs. The building was entirely made of glass and round shaped – which allowed to reduce the maintainance costs. There were even fake rocks and a river to make the environment look more authentic. But there were also small animals from the dinosaur period running among the plants. There were also holograms scatered into the building to allow visitors to get more information about the plants and animals they were seeing.

The group then left the greenhouse which was built in a similar style to the other buildings of the park. The three men then headed north towards the Dilophosaurus Dome.

From the outside – the building looked like an octogon with a dome on the top of it.

The interior of the enclosure looked very much like the authentic paleo-environment of the Dilophosaurues. Then a greyish dinosaur with a V-shape double crest on its head emerged from the forest. The dinosaur than spat venom towards the trio – which was fortunately spared from its effects by the glass tunnel allowing tourists entering the Dome to see the Dilophosauruses.

The animal then turned around without being capable of grabbing its meal. While exiting the attraction – the trio saw a group of nine Dilophosauruses – four adults and five young ones. After remaining 15 minutes watching them – the three men exited the dome. Heading to the golf course.

Meanwhile – after returning to Jurassic World City – Claire and her nephews entered a vivarium where Gray could see Baryonyxes. « Why aren't they moving ? » he asked. « Cause they wait for the fish to bite their rods. » a familiar voice responded. It was Maddy. She indeed woke up early to meet her father and Jackie who were now performing a live fire exercise with their men. But Maddy was a bit angry, and this was because she had argued with her father, like many times before. And she was right because the dinosaurs grabbed the fish released by the staff and ate them as if this was a cookie. The now-four-person group then headed to see the Suchomimuses swimming in their lake area or sleeping in the tree-covered one.

After exiting the Vivarium and eating – the quartet headed to Main Street. « When will be the T-Rexes fed ? » Gray asked. « In three hours ! » Claire answered. « Why don't we go at the Aquatic Park ? » Emma asked. « Why not. Let's go ! » Claire said. The group then headed to the water park – where they stumbled upon Tim – Jackie and their men who were having a nap after a three-hour-long exercise and an early lunch because of their scheduled patrols.

The group was now relaxing at the pool – where were also Zara and her control room friends Lowery and Vivian chating with her. « So when do you relieve the others ? » Claire asked. « In two hours. » Lowery responded looking at his timetable.

Just as Claire and her assistant introduced the children to their two colleages – a helicopter could be heard getting closer and closer. « Bet you it's a group of two ACU helicopters. » Vivian said. « No. I know that sound. It's a group of two Navy ones. » Maddy replied. She was right as the said helicopters flew over the relaxing tourists and staff members revealing themselves as a US Navy SH-60 Seahawk and a US Navy MH-53E Super Stallion before landing nearby.

After they landed, an officer and his escort exited the Seahawk. Tim and Jackie instantly recognized him as Admiral Shane. « Attention hut ! » they yelled to their men who immediately stood at attention. « At ease ! » Shane ordered to everyone. Tim and Jackie immediately reported the situation to Admiral Shane who ordered them to raise the readiness level and tell their men to switch the safety of their guns off and put the selector on semi mode before boarding the SH-60 back and flying to the USS Lexington.

« Did you hear what the old man say ? Brace for combat. Full alert. We're now on DEFCON 2 ! It ain't DEFCON 3 anymore ! » Murphy and Nolan yelled switching their safety off. The other sailors then disengaged their gun safety ready to fire at any threat. Every military personnel then donned their flak jackets and kevlar helmets as well as Nuclear intervention suits in anticipation of a combat. They also loaded their now too heavy backpacks into the Stallion – keeping only their Camelback and respirators with them before it takes off as well this time to flying towards the USS Yorktown.

However – visitors and staff members all watched the Navy personnel before Murphy barked them to get back to their business.

Meanwhile – on the US 11th Fleet – the pilots and other personel were getting busier than ever before as the alert was now on DEFCON 2.
