"We have to go." Draco came busting down our door in the early morning. I shot up in a panic. Didn't he know how to wake somebody up better? Without giving them a heart attack?

"Why do we have to leave?" Lucifer asked, untangling himself from me. He stretched out his arms sitting up.

Draco paced back and forth across the front of the room. "I feel a shift, I think they know we're here."

I sat up as well, crawling to the end of the bed. "What do you mean they know we're here? We're not even there yet Draco!"

"They know we're close, I don't know how." He didn't stop pacing for one minute.

Lucifer sighed. "They know cause of Isabel and I." He got up from the bed, grabbing a shirt and putting it on.

I looked over at him. "What do you mean because of us?" He gave me a pointed look. "Oh."

"What happened during your sexual activities?" Draco asked, studying us. I blushed, god did he hear us?

"Her wings came out, and so did mine." He answered.

Draco stared at me in shock. "You unleashed her full powers. Are you ready Isabel?" He stopped in front of me.

"Um, I guess."

"We don't have time for guesses! If you're at full capacity and don't know how to control it the phoenix will take over!" He yelled at me. Draco never yelled at me, this must be serious.

Lucifer put a hand on his shoulder, pulling him back. "Relax dude, she's ready." He gave me a serious look. "I know it."

We packed our bags and made our way to McDonald's. We'll need all the fuel we can get for this fight. "So how far away are we exactly?" I asked, munching on a big mac. If this was going to be my last meal, I had to make it a good one. Draco was car we stole from the motel. What? We couldn't just teleport there I'm sure they'd sense our magic.

"Not too far away." Was the answer he kept giving me. At one point I doubted he actually knew where he was going. "Call Xeon." He instructed.

"Who the hell is Xeon?" Lucifer rolled his eyes at my question. He was in the passenger seat.

"Commander of your army, have him get his troops ready." He made a sharp left turn throwing my body to the side.

"You're going to kill us before we even get there." I yelled.

"Do It Isabella!" I glared at the back of his head.

"Uh Xeon? Come forth?" I asked skeptically.

"Yes?" I jumped when a female appeared next to me on the back seat. She had long black hair and looked similar to my age. Maybe a year or two older.

"Whoa, you're a girl?" I couldn't stop myself from asking the question. Xeon just seemed like a guy's name.

"Why does this surprise you phoenix? I have known you for eons. You are the one that made me ruler." She spoke just like Draco. They weren't from this planet.

"Oh yeah, I forgot...being old does that to your memory." I laughed awkwardly, she didn't join.

"Xeon, is everyone ready? We will be heading into battle soon. We need you ready." Draco addressed her.

She glared at him. a reaction I wasn't expecting. Did they have history? Maybe. "We are always ready." She all but growled out. Then Draco did something that shocked me to the core. He winked at her. What was I witnessing right now? Draco being semi human?

"Good." I looked eyes with Lucifer in the mirror. He tried not to laugh at the shocked look on my face.

"I'll explain later." I heard his voice in my head.

The car ride was quiet after that. Xeon didn't disappear, like I thought she would. She sat next to me with a long intimating sword out. Her eyes darting around the car every few minutes. I'm not even sure where the sword came from. Unlike Draco she didn't appear stark naked. She had on this Viking get up that didn't seem comfortable to just be sitting in a car in. it didn't seem to bother her though.

"We're here." The car shut off and I looked out my window. If I didn't think they were expecting us before now I knew they were. We had stopped outside of a high school football field. Standing in the field was my parents. There was a group of maybe forty people surrounding them.

"Well I don't think they came to talk." Draco was the first to get out the car, followed by Xeon.

"Let the phoenix fight." My eyes snapped to Lucifer's as he twisted in his seat to look at me.

"What? I thought we didn't want the phoenix to come out?"

He shook his head. "We don't want her out now, but this is her fight. Not yours, I promise she'll protect you. But you have to trust her."

"I can't trust her not to hurt you, or Draco, or even Xeon." Last time the phoenix took over I had no control over her. Lucifer made her relent.

"She won't hurt us. She knows we're here to help her. All she wants to do is protect you Isabel, she is the strength part of you. Not your enemy." He explained. Draco and Xeon were waiting outside the car for us. Both watching my parents.

"I will not harm them, I just want to make your parents pay." This time it wasn't Lucifer's voice I was hearing, but the phoenix.

"Will you give me back control?" I asked her.

"No," I froze. "Because we will work together, as one." I'm not exactly sure what she meant by that but suddenly I trusted her. I was so determined on keeping her out that I never thought to fully embrace her. So that we were one, now it was time to test that.

"I'm ready." He must've seen the determination on my face, he nodded before getting out the car. I slipped out walking towards my parents, leading my backup.

"I was wondering if you were ever going to get out of that car." My dad smirked as we approached him. I took a deep breath to calm myself, and that's when I smelt him. We've been together for so long he had unmistakable smell that was etched into my memory. They had my son.

The wind picked up around us in a fury. Trees uprooted from the ground flying in a circle around us. The ground we were standing on started to quake and shake. I felt weightless, like I was floating. When I looked down, I saw my feet had risen at least six inches off the ground. My hair whipped around me, a mixture of purple and flaming red. I faced my parents. "Give me what's mine." My voice had taken on a dark tone. The voice of the phoenix. When I spoke, thunder clapped across the sky. They made a fatal mistake.
