Shrieking laughter rang on my ears. My head automatically jerked up. Inayos ko yung necktie ko and make a grunt. I blinked several times, removed my pony and brushed my hair with my bare hands.

I yawned. Napatingin ako sa wrist watch ko then sa bintana ng classroom. I frowned. Mukang uulan pa yata..

"Stacey," a cold voice said from somewhere behind me. I spun my head around, it's Leanne, and gave her a questioning look.

Sa classroom na to, kami ni Leanne yung walang circle of friends. But I and Leanne are definitely not close friends, of course. I am considered as nerd, and Leanne as... weirdo. Because she looks cold and emotionless at all times.

"Let's talk, can we?"- she finally asked after receiving my looks. I hide my curiosity and just nodded. Ano naman kaya ang pag-uusapan namin?

She then showed me her five fingers then turned back on her book. I just shrugged and turned away from her.

"Wait up, Leanne"- I said between my huffed voice. I am panting as hell following this weirdo with my bag on shoulders and books on my arms. We're currently heading through the forest from the left side of our school. She said she needs a quiet place to settle while we're talking, so I just followed her.

However, she didn't stop walking fast. I felt my temper raising.

"Where the hell are we heading at, Leanne? Dapat umuuwi na tayo. You just need a talk tapos kailangan sa gubat pa?" Are you insane, or just a plain weirdo? I wanted to add but decided not to.

This time she stopped walking without facing me. I saw her head moves a little from her right then moves back to front.

"What?"- malakas na singhal ko. I can also tell that my face were crumpled so bad because of irritation.

Slowly, she spun around and face me. Cold air touched my face and not my entire body, but ignored it. I stared at her for a moment and watch her wavy gold-hinted hair fly from her behind... and then I realized that there's no wind at all to make that hair of hers fly vulnerably... I blinked.

"I want you to meet my friends."- she suddenly said with her cold but approaching voice. I furrowed my eyebrows at her.

"Your what?"

"Friends. Nandun sila."- she said pointing her thumb from her back which I managed to glance at.

Nilipat ko ang tingin ko sakanya.

"You don't want to say na nasa gitna ng gubat ang mga kaibigan mo Leanne, right?"- I said half smirking and frowning. Hindi naman siguro wild animals ang tinutukoy nyang friends, diba?

She didn't answer but stared at me. I stared back and after some moment, she turn her back from me and started to walk again. I blinked.

"L-look Leanne, I'm not going with you anymore!"- I said, forcing an authority but failed.

She didn't stop walking.

"Leanne! Come back here!"

But her figure's fading so quickly and seconds later, she totally vanished from my sight.

"ATE STACEY!"

My whole body jumped from my chair and my head seared with pain. "Ouch.."

"Gulat ka no? Hihi,"- said Jillian while entering my small room. Pasimple kong hinilot ang sintido ko..

"Bakit Jillian?"- I asked still touching my temple. Ngumiti ng malapad sakin si Jillian showing her incomplete teeth.

Maya-maya hinila nya ako palabas sa kwarto ko papuntang sala. Binitawan nya lang yung kamay ko nung nasa tapat na ako ng sofa and then she paved her way to the stack of CDs below the TV.

She ran back to me and raised her hand holding a barbie CD.

Sighing, I get the CD from her small hand and start installing it on the TV. I took a glance at my wrist watch, it says 10:59 in the evening. With a searing head, I went to the kitchen to prepare Jillian a glass of milk.

Malakas ang volume ng TV but I heared silent footsteps from behind. I spun and saw an empty and narrow staircase that leads to my room. I frowned, turn to gaze at Jillian, to the door that leads through the garage beside the sink, and back to the staircase.

Marahan kong nilapitan yung hagdan, I walk on three steps and my head starts to sear in pain again. I shut my eyes tightly and proceeded in walking.

Nung marating ko yung pinaka-last na step, I saw a tall and thin man wearing in black, facing my room's white door.

Thief, I instantly thought. Maybe my breathing is so fast that makes the man turn his head to me that made me jump. He's wearing a mask, his hair's so thick it hides his ears and eyes.

The thief is about to pull something from his pocket and began walking towards me when my head throb so bad like my skull are being apart. A big black dog comes out of my room and attacked the man. Horrified, I step backward, then realized that I was standing on the staircase, and clutched the railings so hard to keep myself in balance.

Shocked and wide eyed, I looked at the thief who's now lying flat faced on the floor, no blood and damage on his back, but he is unconscious. And then I heard footsteps bustling up behind me.

"What happen---Oh my god.. Stacey!"- gasps Tita Sandy then squeezed my both arms. I closed my open mouth and gulp.

I jerked my head from left to right just to find no trace of the black dog who actually attacked the thief. I frowned. Where is it?!

Right, what the fuck had just happen?
