"-and did you guys see Riley walk in to school? He looks mighty fine if I do say so myself," my best friend, Katya James gushed as she and I met up at our lockers. It was the first day back to school and we hadn't seen each other for nearly two weeks, since the day we met up for her elder brother's birthday bash.

"Hello??? Chloe?? Are you even listening to us??" My other best friend, Mikaela Waters said as she noticed that my glassy eyes and how I was totally spaced out.

"Yeah." I replied them, having no idea what they were saying, or even what was coming out of my mouth. I could be talking about daisies for all I cared.

"Have you even heard what we've been saying for the past ten minutes?" Katya said, waving her hand in front of my eyes.

"Yeah." I replied still completely monotonous.

"When's my birthday?" Mikaela asked, with an exasperated look on her face. She nudged Katya and whispered something in her ear, making both of them burst into a fit of laughter.

"Yeah..." I say, dragging out the 'ah'.

Katya hit me upside the head and messed up my perfectly styled ponytail. I hit her and groaned as I feel around the top of my head. The hair back there was messy and bunched up, my ponytail having gotten pulled upwards when Katya hit me. I looked over at Katya and Mikaela, who were leaning against their locker like supermodels, with their perfect hair and perfect faces...

"YEAH, OKAY, RILEY'S REALLY FIT!!!" I shouted at Katya and Mikaela, who were both staring at me like the world had just exploded into tiny little pieces. They were staring open mouthed at something, or someone behind me.

"I'm 'really fit', am I?" Riley Tether says as he stood behind me, pressing his well-toned chest against my back. I could feel him breathing against my neck, his hot breath sending shivers down my spine.

"We were talking about another Riley, from a book, you know?" Mikaela said to Riley as she pulled both Katya and I away. Katya was giggling hysterically while Mikaela just rolled her eyes.

"Oh gee that was close! He does look better up close doesn't he?" Katya whispered to us as Mikaela screeched to a halt outside our English classroom.

"I guess so but-" Mikaela said before Katya cut her off by making a horrible imitation of her voice.

"I am so hot for Alex!!!" Katya said in a stupid falsetto voice that made me want to wither up and die inside. Mikaela smacked her upside the head, not even messing up her hair even a little bit. That is something that I will be eternally jealous of Katya and Mikaela for, the fact that they manage to look perfect every second of every day. Mikaela blushed a deep shade of scarlet before Katya and I erupted into laughter.

"Well, how about you two?" she asked us, her blush slowly fading back into her lightly tanned skin. She raised her right eyebrow at us, silently daring us to reply. And Katya being Katya opened her mouth to reply.

"Well, I don't know about me but did you see the way that Riley was pressing his extremely fine body up against Chloe?" She said with a tiny smirk on her face.
