Chapter 25: Bullets

I CAME TO A STOP after making sure that I'm really far from his mansion. Nakahawak pa rin ang dalawang kamay ko sa manibela at blangko lang ang mga titig ko sa walang-katao-taong kapaligiran.

Napabuntong-hininga ako nang maging pamilyar sa akin ang daang pinaradahan ko.

"Oh goodness. Ikamamatay talaga kita, Jeserr!!"

I stopped in that same secluded area. Ang lugar kung saan pwersahan akong tinakot at kinaladkad ni Jeserr palabas ng kotse ko.

"Bitawan mo ako!! Nababaliw ka na!"

That was the first time I saw him in his monstrous side. I knew he could hurt me physically even before that day, but breaking my car using a baseball bat is farfetched from the bad guy I thought he is.

"Why are you doing this to me? I told you I don't know where Rectine is!"

"Don't do anything stupid."

Isang malungkot na ngiti ang ginawa ko habang unti-unti nang nagsisilabasan ang mga luha sa mga mata ko.

Of course, everything he did to me is all for Rectine. He wanted to find her that's why he used me. He made me a bait to get her back. Ako naman itong si tanga, nagpahulog sa kanya. Jeez, Winey!

Igon already warned me about Jeserr's real feelings. Bakit pa kasi ako nagpadala sa sarili kong nararamdaman?

I joined the game with the vision of winning, but what did I get? I lose in the end. I fucking lose again.

Nagdadalawang-isip ako kung sasagutin ko ba o hindi ang tawag. Sir Glaz knew Rectine's back, that's why he asked me stay in the mall. What a scheme.

"What do you want from me?" Malamig kong tanong nang sagutin ko ang tawag nya.

"I'm sorry." His voice sounded apologetic.

"For what?" I sighed. "You shouldn't be. I'm actually glad she's back. Matatahimik na rin ang buhay ko. That's what I want noon pa man, Glaz." A liar I am.

"Pwede ba tayong magkita, Wine?"

"Sorry pero pwede bang sa ibang araw na lang? Medyo busy kasi ako sa pag-eempake." Isa na namang kasinungalingan.

"O-okay. Please give me a call."

"Yeah."

I ended the call and started the car's engine again. Wala naman akong ibang pupuntahan kundi ang condo. Igon will surely be mad if he sees me looking this shit. However, I have no one else to ran to. Igs is the only person I could think of that will never leave my side whatever happens to me. Dad will probably kick me out of his house again if he finds out about the real story behind the marriage I had with Jeserr. Lola Fel and Mommy Divian, they'll cut their ties with me since the real bride's back. Si Igon na lang ang tanging mananatili sa tabi ko. No one else. Si Igon lang.

I don't know how long I stayed in that secluded area. I made sure my tears wouldn't fall again when I see Igs kaya nagtagal ako roon na walang ibang ginagawa kundi ang umiyak nang umiyak. Funny, don't you think? Napunta ako sa gulong ito na umiiyak at ngayong magtatapos na ay umiiyak pa rin ako. Jeez!

I know the passcode on the condo's door kaya malaya akong nakapasok. When I got inside, Igon is enjoying a netflix movie on his own.

"Yo, Igs." I raised the two wine bottles I bought on my way here. "I'm back!!" I jumped and ran to give him a hug.
