Chapter 27

Sorry for the wait but as promised... here's the chapter

BILLIES POV

I turned around to take one last glance at the crowd to see if Bryan was still down. Katherine was right in front of me waiting. And what I saw put me into an even bigger panic. Bryan was making his way through the giant crowd heading our way.

why is this guy invincible? and why is he so fucking stupid when I've literally won every single time?

I ran right out the doors at that sight. I looked at Katherine who stood waiting for me. I pulled on her arm and led her down the street.

"Run!" I told her

Katherine wasn't as drunk as before due to what she had just witnessed but still fairly wasted but right now that didn't matter all I needed her to do was run, run as far away from this building as possible.

The streets were empty at this time of night which made things even scarier. I felt like I was just running on a treadmill  going no where. I could almost sense Bryan getting closer and the fear I felt for my life and the love of my life's becoming greater if that was even possible.

I knew the area pretty well so I took a quick turn into the park near by. There were trees that could provide good cover for me and Katherine as the dangerous man grew closer on our trail.

I pulled Katherine behind a tree and watched at the opening of the bushes where we had come in from.

"Billie what did you see?" Katherine whispered

"Shh" I said holding up my finger.

That's when I saw bryan walk by the opening. I saw his hand placed over his gun, and the blood trailing down his forehead.

I let out a sigh of relief when I saw him walk in the wrong direction. I turned towards Katherine and began to whisper.

" I hit him over the head with our drinks, that's why my hands are cut but when he fell I saw that he had a gun."

KATHERINES POV

"Oh my god," I said shocked. I knew bryan was dangerous but I never thought he was this dangerous. " Is he still following us?"

"No he went that way" Billie said grabbing onto my hand

Billie took me from behind the tree and brought me to the playground. The large trees covered it pretty well, if you didn't know the area you wouldn't even know it was there.

We sat down on the swings and just tried to calm down.

I looked into Billie's eyes just growing extra appreciative of everything I have. Even though Bryan was a fucking stalker and my mom kicked me out, I am truly happy with my life. And for that, I'll always be grateful to Billie for changing my life.

The thought of life without her really scared me, but when I think of how much I love her, and how I want to spend the rest of my life with her, all I could feel is calm.

I slowly started to feel the adrenaline leave my body as I looked Billie in the eyes. Her eyes always managed to wash away any bad feelings I had.

Billie and I just sat there lightly swinging, while we teared up at the sight of each other. I could tell that Billie's high had left too cause now all that I could see was the fear in her eyes.

"I'm so scared of losing you Kat" Billie said tearing up

I could tell she was still replaying it in her mind as she began tic-ing. Her Tourette's has always been an issue for her and I knew her tics were only ever this bad when she was really scared. I wanted to make her feel okay, but she had every reason to be this scared.

I wrapped my arm around Billie in an effort to try and calm her tics away. It worked and soon she was back to herself.

"I know I am too, but I'm right here and we're gonna be okay" I said rubbing her side. I kissed her forehead and just sat there with her in my arms never wanting to lose this feeling. I can't even imagine what that would be like. The thought makes me sick to my stomach. I feel like I need her more than air. Billie is my air.

"I love you," I whispered into her ear " so much"

" I love you too"

Right when we both had finally calmed down, we heard the bushes behind us rustle causing us both to dart our heads quickly and Billie to stand in front of me, protecting me with her life.
