Chapter 55

KATHERINES POV

I woke up wrapped in Billie's arms. I guess we had fallen asleep. We had been going between watching Netflix and kissing each other for a while until I got too comfortable in her arms and just passed out.

It's weird to think about, the past two nights I've been having the best sleep I've had in a while. What I mean by that is, in order for me to get good sleep I have to have her next to me. And that's- nice, but like at the same time... When did I become so soft? When did she become so soft? It's just strange that's all.

I lifted my head off her chest and looked up at her. Not like anyone else would know... but the view's amazing. She's just so cute when she's asleep. And awake. And just- always.

I've been staring for too long.

I slowly turned to reach for my phone, trying not to wake her. I pressed the home button and checked the time.

10:03pm

Oh so that's why I'm awake now. I totally would've gotten out of bed after seeing that it's only 10, but Billie just looks so peaceful. Besides, what would I do in her house if she wasn't awake.

So I decided to set my phone back down quietly and turn back into Billie's chest.

I tried to fall back asleep but it was just about impossible. After about ten minutes of just laying there with my eyes closed, I was bored out of my mind. That's when I heard footsteps outside the door. I squeezed my eyes shut and faked being asleep.

The door to Billie's room opened and the lights came on. Although my eyes were closed I felt Billie toss a bit before she sat up.

BILLIES POV

"Mom?" I asked squinting, "What are you doing?"

"Aw, why'd you have to move?" she whispered putting her phone down. "I wanted a picture, you guys looked so cute. Is that Kat?"

"No mom, it's my side hoe." I said sarcastically while stretching, "gotta stay busy."

"She's even prettier than I imagined." my mom said.

"Yeah, I know." I said smiling looking down at her. I could've sworn I saw her smiling too... must be having a good dream.

"Well I just came in here to grab some PJ's" she said opening the drawer.

It wasn't very quiet. Kat tossed a little so I shooed my mom off. I didn't want Kat to wake up and meet my mom for the first time the second she opened her eyes.

She left the room and that's when Kat started to wake up.

KATHERINES POV

Okay, Billie's mom sounds like the sweetest person alive, and as much as I enjoyed eavesdropping... my arm was under my body and after a while I felt circulation stop, nerves dying, and that tingly feeling coming on and I just couldn't. On top of that Billie was awake now so I had no reason to keep forcing sleep on myself.

"Hey baby" Billie cooed pushing my hair behind my ear.

"Hi" I smiled while 'yawning', "What time is it?" I asked in a sleepy voice. Don't judge a bitch's a whole actress.

" A little after ten." Billie said after checking her phone." What were you dreaming about? I saw you smiling." she asked.

"oh um- just a really nice dream..." I said but she looked like she wanted me to continue, "- about a... puppy. It was very cute."
