I unpacked my last box and sighed. I recently just moved into another town called Mysic Falls. I've lived in ten other towns in just four years. Hopefully I could stay here and not have to leave. Grabbing my purse and keys, before walking out of my apartment. I walked around town, hoping to find en opening somewhere. I came across a neon light and smiled. This is exactly the type of thing I wanted. Walking into the building, I saw a man getting ready to tattoo a lady.

"Hello. What can I do for you?" The man asked.

"Hi. I'm Danica, and I was wondering if I could apply for a job here?" I spoke.

"I'm Clark. You think you're up for the job?" Bill asked.

"Pretty sure" I shrugged handing him my notebook filled with my drawings.

"Damn, you got skill" He smiled looking up from a drawing of a bleeding heart.

"Thanks" I smiled.

"Think you can take this one over?" He asked gesturing to the young blonde. She was about my age, and it seemed like she was a bit drunk.

"You sure?" I asked.

"Yeah" Clark nodded. "Lets see what you got." I walked over to the blonde, and she looked over at me.

"Is there a certain tattoo you want?" I asked her.

"Didn't he just hire you?" She asked, unsure of my abilities.

"Don't worry" Clark told her. "She's very talented."

"If you say so" she then went on to describe the tattoo she wanted.

"Okay" I breathed out and picked up the machine that put the ink into your skin.

About an hour and a half later the tattoo was done and I only messed up a few times. Luckily it was things that I could fix. She looked into the body mirror and lifted up her shirt and gasped.

"It's better than I thought it would be" she spun around to face me

"It's better than I thought it would be" she spun around to face me. "Thank you so much!"

"It was nothing" I shrugged, happy she loved the thing that was now permenant on her body.

"Wait until I tell all my friends" she squealed before paying for the art now embedded into her skin. She thanked me again before rushing outside and to her car.

"You did good" Clark praised. He pushed himself off of the wall he was leaning on. "When's the earliest you can start?"

I smiled brightly, and answered "Monday? Since it's already Friday, and I need time to settle in to my new place."

"Sounds reasonable" Clark nodded. "I'll see you Monday then."

"Thank you so much" I grinned. He handed me my notebook and my purse. We said our goodbyes and I walked outside. I was shocked at how dark it was already, and a little unnerved that I had to walk to the apartment. I walked down the sidewalk, and heard a noise behind me. I turned around to see a shadow jump behind an abandoned car. I felt my heart beat pick up speed, I turned back around and walked faster. I was spun around and met with red eyes, black hair, and fangs. I screamed and on instinct, kicked him in the balls. The man growled but quickly recovered, and I realized his demonic features had disappeared.

He forcefully made me look at him, and said "Do as I say." My will to fight against gim vanished and I nodded. "Don't fight me" he brushed my hair out of my face.

"I won't fight" I spoke. What the hell am I doing? He threw me over his shoulder, and began running at an inhuman speed. I almost felt like I could get sick. The man stopped at the sound of music, and he turned in that direction. We ended up in the woods, and as we got closer to the music, he set me down.

He faced me in the opposite direction of the bonfire and said "stay here. Don't look over in the direction of the party." I complied but willed my body to move. Tears of frustration built up in my eyes, and thats when I heard the screams. Multiple people were screaming as if they were being murdered. But what would I know? They probably were. As soon as the screaming started, it quickly ended. Footsteps sounded behind me. I took a sharp breath and blinked rapidly. Some tears fell from my eyes and I cursed myself. The man came back and stood in front of me. He noticed the few tears and he spoke "don't be afraid." Just like that, my fearwas gone. All that was left was confusion.

"Who are you?" I asked when I finally found my voice.

"I'm Damon Salvatore" he eyed me as if he was as confused as I was. "A vampire." I then noticed the little bit of blood around his mouth that he tried to quickly wipe off before he came over to me.

"What do you want with me?" I asked.

Damon shrugged. "I don't know... Yet."
