After my day at work, I made my way back to the boarding house. I walked in, closing the door behind me silently. I turned right to head up the stairs but froze at the sight in front of me.

"Oh my god" I said loudly as Matt and Caroline walked through the front door.

"Mom?" Matt called, seeing his mother and Damon making out against the wall.

"Damon?" I questioned. Damon placed Matt's mom on the ground, as Elena and Stefan walked over.

"Matty" Ms. Donovan trailed off before she walked out the open door. I shook my head at Damon and scowled at him. I stormed passed him but he grabbed my arm.

"Danica-"

"Don't touch me" I ripped my arm out of his grasp and ran upstairs. I slightly shut my bedroom door, letting out a deep breath and put my hair into a messy ponytail. I changed my clothes and got into black pajama shorts and a matching top. I was about to get into bed when a crashing sound from downstairs caught my attention. I rolled my eyes but went to go see what happened anyway. I walked down the steps and turned around the corner. "What's going on-" I cut myself off as I assessed the scene in front of me. One of the windows in the living room was broken and Stefan was on the ground with a wooden stake in his chest. Two vampires that I didn't know were fighting the two Salvatore's.

"Danica, get out of here!" Damon yelled, fighting off the male vampire. "Now!" I turned to run but I ran right into the female vampire.

"Oh, a snack" she smiled, her fangs showing along with the veins under her eyes. She lunged at my neck, quickly sinking her teeth into my skin. I shrieked, trying to pull away while she pulled me closer to her.

"No" Damon growled. All of a sudden I was being ripped away from her and Stefan stood between us. I clutched my bleeding neck as Stefan and the female had a face off. Stefan lunged at the vampire, forcing the stake in her heart. I stared at her dead body, pulling my hand away from my neck. Damon spun me around to face him as he looked at my wound. "I told you to run."

"I'm fine, Damon" I pulling away from him.

"Here let me heal you" Stefan offered, holding his wrist up to his mouth. I saw his veins fade in and out as he stared at my blood. He blinked quickly, his eyes going back to normal. I shook my head.

"No thanks. I'm fine. I'll just clean and bandage it up" I told him. I looked at them one last time before going to the bathroom. I cleaned the bite before quickly bandaging it. I wiped the remaining blood off of my skin before going to my bedroom for the night.

I fidgeted with the scarf that was around my neck. Elena had woken me up at seven in the morning while pounding on the front door.

"I'm sure you have something better to do at 7:30 in the morning then be here" Damon said to her as she stood with her arms crossed.

"Maybe if I hadn't woken up to find out all the vampires from the tomb were awake and out" Elena glared at Damon. She glanced at me as I continued messing with the scarf. She came toward me, fixing the scarf. "You didn't heal her?" She asked Stefan.

"I offered. She didn't want to be healed" Stefan replied.

"Can someone teach me how to fight?" I blurted out. Everyone turned to look at me. "I felt useless last night."

"You shouldn't have froze when I told you to run" Damon said, chastising me.

"I'm sorry, but that's just another reason why I need to be trained" I glared at him playfully.

"I'll find someone" Stefan spoke up.

"Thank you Stefan" I smiled gratefully. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get some food."
