"You have to start from the beginning!" Emily and Rose were sitting in front of me with eager eyes waiting to hear every detail of last night. I had only woken up two hours ago when the light started to come in through my blinds. Dylan had brought breakfast from the coffee shop in town. Emily, Rose, and Blake all came over not to long ago and Dylan and Blake were in the living room watching football while Emily and Rose were interrogating me in the kitchen.
I started from the very beginning point where he came to pick me up and I completely froze at the door unable to open it. I skipped over the part of his grandmother, I felt like that was something personal and that he trusted me with it. I ended telling them about how Dylan whipped the door open and that the date ended with a good bye kiss on the cheek.
"You whore!" I stared at Rose with an open mouth. "Why am I a whore?" I asked staring at her. "First off you go on a date with one of the hottest guys Iʻve seen and then you come home and you have one of the hottest guys in our school." Oh... that makes sense. Iʻm not a whore though, Dylan is my best friend.
"I am not a whore, thank you very much." I stood up and walked over to the fridge where I grabbed a bottle of vitamin water, XXX. The only person missing from today was Zac and Lily of course. I grabbed my phone and made my way to the living room, where Emily and Rose were sitting with Blake and Dylan. I called Zac.
"Hello Kylie, what can I do for you on this beautiful Saturday afternoon?" I could hear Lily laughing in the background.
"Hi Zac. I was wondering if you wanted to come over. Everyone is here but you and we miss you." He laughed and then went quiet for a while.
"Kylie, I think Iʻm ready." It took me a while to figure out what he meant by ʻhe was ready.ʻ Then it clicked, he was ready to tell everyone about Lily. I had been telling him for the longest time to tell everyone but he was always scared about how people would take it.
"I think you are too Zac." He let out a deep breath and then laughed a little. He let me know he would be by in fifteen minutes or so. We hung up and I walked back into the living room taking the seat next to Dylan.
Dylan and Blake were deep into the football game playing on the T.V. while Rose and Emily were on my laptop looking at halloween costume ideas for all of us. I was barely able to sit while I waited for Zac to come. I hoped I was right about everyone taking the news well because if I was wrong I would feel so bad about pressuring Zac into telling everyone.
After what felt like the longest fifteen minutes of my life the doorbell rang. No one moved or even seemed phased by it as I got up and ran to the door, almost tripping over myself. I opened the door and there stood Zac with LIly in his arms smiling like she normally was with her little teddy bear in her hands.
I gave him a reassuring hug as he walked in. I took the baby bag from him and we walked together into the living room. We stood there while everyone was staring at their peices of technology. It wasnʻt until LIly giggled a little that everyone turned around. Confusion crossed all of their faces as they looked from Zac to the precious little girl in his arms.
"Hey guys." That was what started the conversation. I could tell Zac was a little uncomfortable but he took a deep breath and sat down next to Dylan, who was speechless as well as everyone else. I sat down next to Rose and Emily who were just staring at Zac still in confusion.
"Everyone, this is Lily. My daughter." There were the gasp I was expecting. It mainly came from Rose and Emily but the shocked look was plastered on Dylan and Blakes faces. The questions were next. The usual, who was the mother? Where was she? How didnʻt they know? Zac calmly answered all of their questions the best he could. When everyone was satisfied with everything they seemed to turn back to normal. I now had Lily and Rose and Emily were playing with her while I held her. The guys were sitting around cheering at the T.V.
