Spencer's POV.

Only Morgan and I could wait at the hospital during Chloe's surgery, the rest of the team was out looking for Myers. We didn't talk much, and I wondered if this was how the waiting room was when I was shot and in surgery. It was extremely quiet and I could practically feel the weight of concern on top of me. One of the doctors made eye contact as he headed towards us so Morgan and I stood up, waiting for the news.

"The surgery went very well. Agent Campbell is going to be fine. She is back in her hospital room right now." He informed us. "Can we see her?" I asked, my voice coming out more impatient than I intended for it to. "Sorry, not yet. The only people who can visit her at the moment are her immediate family."

Immediate family? We were in New York. Her family was back in Virginia and couldn't possible fly out at this hour. Besides, by the time they got here, she would most likely be ready to get back on our flight anyway. "Her immediate family isn't here, Doctor. Is there any way that we can see her?" Morgan asked. "I'm very sorry, but the answer for now is n-"

"Listen, Dr. Reynolds, her family is not here and from what you have told me, the surgery went well which means she is in a good enough condition to see us. I am not just going to sit here and wait around for your 'okay' to go and see her. She is an agent on our team and I am going in right now." I said, pushing past him and Morgan.

"Woah, woah, woah. Reid!" Morgan shouted as he grabbed me by my shoulders, giving the doctor an apologetic look. As he walked away, Morgan turned to me and gave me a stern look. "Are you out of your mind?" He asked, his tone filled with anger. "Get yourself together, man. You can't do something like that." He scolded. "I know." I replied, knowing that I shouldn't have acted out like that, and to be honest, I had no idea why I did.

We sat in silence again for what seemed like hours before the same doctor returned. Both of us stood up once again, this time with me slightly behind Morgan. "You can visit her now if you would like." He informed us before walking away.

Chloe's POV.

The first thing that I saw was the color white and nothing else. My first thought was that I was dead, but then once I started to come to my senses I realized that I was just looking up at the hospital ceiling. The sharp pain in my head that I had grown familiar to was back and I brought my hand up to one of my temples as it hit me.

'Well, look at who decided to wake up."

I turned my head to see the faces of a smiling Morgan and concerned Reid. Smiling, I pushed myself up so that I could sit in my hospital bed which only made the pain in my head more intense, but not unbearable. "How bad do I look?" I asked, letting out a small chuckle. Morgan pulled his phone out of his back pocket and set it on to camera mode before handing it to me. "Brace yourself." He teased.

Taking the phone, I took a deep breath before putting it up to my face. Although I wasn't unrecognizable, the amount of stitches, gashes, and bruises around my face completely shocked me. Without speaking, I quickly handed Morgan his phone back and looked down at my lap, ashamed in my appearance.

"Did you find him?" I asked, hoping to take the attention away from my face. Reid and Morgan both exchanged a small glance before looking back at me. "JJ, Hotch, and Rossi are working on it. Along with the police." Reid answered. I nodded my head and let out a sigh.

After a few seconds of silence, Morgan's phone buzzed. "They need me for backup." He said while giving me a sad smile. "I'll be back though, alright? You hang in there."

I returned a small smile of my own as he laid a hand on my shoulder before exiting the room, leaving Reid sitting in the chair next to my bed. The only sound that could be heard was the beeping of my heart monitor as we sat in silence.

"I'm sorry." Reid said, breaking the silence. "Reid," I started to say before he interrupted me, "No, I should have made sure that you were with me at all times. Especially when he was looking for girls like you." He shook his head, not making eye contact with me. "It's not your fault, Reid. If anything it's mine. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." I assured him.

"You could have died....I would have never....I..." Reid stopped talking and scratched the back of his neck. From what I could tell, there was something that he didn't want to say. "You would have never what?" I asked.

"Nevermind." He snapped at me. I was taken aback by his tone. Why did he go from being guilty and concerned to secretive and seemingly angry? We sat there without talking until the doctor walked in.

"Glad to see that you're awake, Ms. Campbell." He greeted me with a friendly smile and set down a tray with food and two small cups of pills on to the built in table on the side of my bed. "Those pills are to help with the pain and the swelling of the bruises. I'll have to write up a prescription for you, you'll need to take these every day for the next few months along with another medication to prevent infection in your stitches." As he talked, I quickly swallowed my pills and scarfed down my food, now realizing how starving I was.

"I'm gonna go meet up with the others." Reid said before getting up and leaving the room without another word. I raised a brow, wondering what was up with him.
